Disappointed my post was deleted, are we afraid the forums reputation will drastically suffer because I said it’s ok to do coke?!
Edited:
No – it was because of the disgusting language.

jumping jerk
were made clear before he could add
charlatan
the list of reasons why I
couldn’t care less
for the "man".
I, along with other members of this forum I’m sure, spent a decent portion of my twenties in a
decadent haze
fuelled by activities legal and/or
otherwise
. The difference, however, lies not in the taxman/doctor’s cut, but how most do not make great personal capital in simultaneously being a
role-model/poster boy
.
Kieren Fallon never laid claim to be
a good person
and the decidedly modest Dean Gallagher seems, on all accounts, to be a thoroughly nice chap who cared greatly for the horses.
Overall, this news overwhelms me with "meh". On the other hand, the news of Frankelesque genes returning to the track is much better for the sport.
So because Fallon has always been bad it’s alright for him… And it’s alright for you and your friends BH… But because in the past Frankie has been happy to help promote the sport, doing things
we
‘ve wanted him to – he should be treated differently?

He’s got an outgoing personality the press and public liked/wanted to see; why should he be condemned on the basis of that? Press like to build people up, exaggerating the good points and then knock them down – exaggerating the bad points. We should not follow the same path.
I myself am more forgiving to someone (extrovert or introvert) who’s fallen off the straight and narrow once or twice – rather than forgive someone who’s always in trouble.
Also, would not be too disparaging if I’d done something similar in my past.
Frankie’s done his time, was a great jockey and hopefully will be again. I’d wish him luck and say don’t do it again.

Probably due to the "F"’s rather than what you said about the "C"’s Ben.
Never a good idea posting when drunk.

I don’t remember granting you the authority to speak on my behalf or that of my friends for that matter (most of whom wouldn’t know what cocaine smelled like if it went straight up their nose). Indeed, you seem to have taken it upon yourself to speak for the elusive
we
which is rather amusing. Perhaps Frankie’s astronomical sense of self importance is something you see in yourself?
I’m not condoning the actions of Mr Fallon, but I certainly find them less lamentable than those of somebody who worked very hard to be the poster boy of the sport. After all, he did assume the
responsibility
rather than him have it thrust upon him.
Besides, I’m still relatively indifferent to the coke abuse in isolation, rather it was his disgusting behaviour following Rewilding’s fall that prompts me to find him the way I find him.
But if you want to tell him not to do it again (or at least not get caught
again
), then be my guest. Just don’t do it on my behalf.

I don’t
"speak on your behalf"
, just seemed somewhat hypocritical calling the man names when admitting you yourself did a similar thing. If you want to treat Frankie differently just because he’s an extrovert, that’s your prerogative. I’ve never been a fan of Frankie’s "look at me" antics, but rather treat everyone equally and not on some obviously made up persona.
But you’ve now explained your feelings for the man are little to do with the drugs, that’s ok then.

My
"importance"
is only equal to your good self BH or indeed Frankie’s.
Value Is EverythingJanuary 15, 2014 at 23:10 #465017I have never seen Frankie pull a horse to be fair. He wants to do Coke at the weekend, fine, I do beer at the weekend so no worries. Fallon pulled a horse in a race where punters had placed a bet, what was his punishment?
He should be finished.
January 16, 2014 at 00:42 #465025Careful Woolfie.
Fallon was "proven" not guilty.
What should he be "punished" for?

You did speak on my behalf when you told me what motivated me to call him such a name. You’re repeating the trick by explaining to me that I want to treat Frankie differently just because he’s an extrovert. (For the record, some of my favourite people as well as historical figures are definite extroverts)
In truth, my feelings were explained on here way back on the 3rd of August 2011 when I started a thread titled "I really don’t like Frankie Dettori". During this thread, whilst I referred to him as "an egomaniacal piece of shit" (the names I call him these days are actually comparatively tame), I made not a solitary remark on his nasal habits.
So whilst I have no problem acknowledging those occasions when I
am
being a hypocrite (they happen fairly frequently as, unlike you, I am flawed), I’m afraid this isn’t exactly one of them.
You can have the last word if you want…
January 16, 2014 at 15:55 #465049You can have the last word if you want…
Ok, if you insist…

I usually enjoy reading your posts on racing matters BH, just wish you’d keep to commenting about the individual happening and not judging people’s whole characters on very little evidence. It seems crazy to me that anyone wants to judge the entire person (
in the strongest of terms
) on the strength of a TV public persona – or for that matter TRFers whole personalities on a few words posted.
As I said on your "I really don’t like Frankie Dettori" thread…
"Just read the entire thread, what utter ….
Dettori isn’t exactly my cup of tea, not that I like tea anyway.
How dull if everyone were like Ryan and how nausiating if everyone behaved like Frankie. But surely variety is the spice of life? Not so long ago Ryan got a bullet through the head by forumites for being an introvert. Now it’s wrong for Dettori to be extroverted. Both said to be "arrogant". Well, you’ll find most experts in their field have arrogance, they need self belief.I believe this "arrogance" has niggled some on here and their judgement flawed because of it. Seeing what they want to see.
How anyone can take offence by Frankie telling everyone he’s physically ok baffles me. Plain fact is Dettori might be the most horrible or nicest bloke you’ll ever meet. Unless you’ve spent a considerable amount of time in his company, you simply don’t know.
I’ve "met" several jockeys, trainers and racing personalities, but still don’t judge them. Disliking someone on the evidence of a few seconds TV coverage is absolutely crazy. It tells me more about the forumite than Frankie".
Sorry if you object to me saying you’re judging Frankie for being an "extrovert", please replace the word for "his public persona". Whatever way you look at it BH, you are judging the whole man "piece of ****, charlatan" etc by what you see on TV/read in newspapers.
Oh and…
Unfortunately, am sadly very much aware I am "flawed" in so many ways. Yet another generalisation you’ve got wrong about me.
Value Is EverythingJanuary 16, 2014 at 17:43 #465055Ginge, you have had the last word ,,,as per norm ,,,lol
