I don’t remember which race it was,but I believe it was at Newmarket. Frankie as asked to ride the rail and he came down the middle of the course. There was a public row over the ride. The Sheik was never the same to him since that incident and was waiting in the wings to dump him since then I think.
June 1, 2012 at 15:18 #406257I believe you are referring to the Qe2 (switched to HQ from the re-developing Ascot) when Frankie followed Rakti on Dubawi before switching and not getting to Starcraft.
Regarding your other comments about the relationship between owner and jockey, i am in no position to comment. And neither are you unless you are in the inner circle and speaking from a position of inside knowledge, which i doubt.
June 2, 2012 at 04:41 #406354If I was speaking from inside knowledge I would probably not be speaking at all.
June 6, 2013 at 06:52 #24212Should Sheikh Mohammed apologise to Frankie?
And welcome him back to the fold? I’m sure both would benefit.

You mean a drug taking jockey riding drug taking horses?
I agree there is a probably a good match there and they probably deserve one another.
June 6, 2013 at 09:15 #441962Apologise for what? Why?
Sheikh Mohammed can change his jockeys as often as he likes, so long as he isn’t breaking a contract with them or being unfair. It does not sound as though either of these things happened with Frankie. Godolphin eased in two (or three if you count Ajtebi) new riders as Frankie got older.
Should a football manager apologise to a player he releases on a free transfer? Should Roy Hodgson apologise to Joe Hart if he drops him in favour of Fraser Forster?
I believe ‘no’ is the answer to both questions and this is a similar situation. Perhaps Sheikh Mohammed could
thank
Dettori for his years of service, but that really comes down to his personal views on etiquette with former employees.
June 6, 2013 at 10:51 #441971Can’t see he’s anything to apologise for.
June 6, 2013 at 11:50 #441981For putting Frankie on doped horses. Then he should apologize all round including to Coolmore for stealing their triple crown with a steroid stuffed horse .To young Joseph who rode the defeated horse and took stick for not winning. To the Doncaster community who were robbed of the value of their classic. Many apologizes needed.

I thought the tread was about apologising to Dettori for sacking him. You are of course correct that he does need to apologise to people over the doping issue. In fact he needs to say a lot more. He did show his arrogance when Clare Balding correctly asked him a question on the doping issue at Newmarket.
January 14, 2014 at 19:56 #25420I sincerely hope the vitriol aimed at Kienan Fallon will not now be turned on Frankie. The legalization of marijuana here in the USA has indicated a calming of the hounds of hostility to lifestyles other than gambling.Just saw the Wolf of Wall Street, very informative of the lives of the Rich and Famous.
January 14, 2014 at 20:32 #464938It was not cannabis he was taking. It was class A drugs, either cocaine or heroin, not sure which or both so I disagree with you.
That is just my opinion though and I don’t think we should hold him as a good example for thr sport, again just my opinion.January 14, 2014 at 23:46 #464950He is just another cheating reprobate to add to the panoply of such folk who dominate every facet of life in Britain.
We need to build more prisons and start filling them with members of the establishment.

Is it not sensible to possess a deterrent to those who would seek to take the piss? I oppose capital punishment incidentally.
My brain has served me well Ginger, it’s has informed re the folly of hedging at least.

January 15, 2014 at 15:35 #464984Go ahead, get it out of your system. You will feel better with the hatred out of your heart.Drugs are bad (illegal) when the doctor does not get his cut! Our personal "drugs" of choice, booze, gambling etc etc etc makes the different!
January 15, 2014 at 16:23 #464985My feelings on the jumping jerk were made clear before he could add charlatan the list of reasons why I couldn’t care less for the "man".
I, along with other members of this forum I’m sure, spent a decent portion of my twenties in a decadent haze fuelled by activities legal and/or otherwise. The difference, however, lies not in the taxman/doctor’s cut, but how most do not make great personal capital in simultaneously being a role-model/poster boy.
Kieren Fallon never laid claim to be a good person and the decidedly modest Dean Gallagher seems, on all accounts, to be a thoroughly nice chap who cared greatly for the horses.
Overall, this news overwhelms me with "meh". On the other hand, the news of Frankelesque genes returning to the track is much better for the sport.
