Even if Havlin had kicked earlier COT would’ve picked him up anyway today imo. COT was motoring down the straight. Ambiente Friendly could’ve done with the ground being even quicker but you could say the same about the winner.
June 1, 2024 at 17:19 #1696616Well done winners and well done to the winning connections. Chivers, that would be a great race to have him in.
June 1, 2024 at 17:30 #1696619Ta all.

June 1, 2024 at 17:34 #1696622Thank you Greenasgrass. I was in a bit of a state after the race, a complete contrast to The 2000 Guineas.
It will be a long time before I land one like this again, and I’m going to really make the most of it
June 1, 2024 at 17:36 #1696623You fully deserve those celebrations, Kris. Well spotted.
June 1, 2024 at 17:37 #1696624COT wouldn’t want faster ground , the second on better ground would have a turn of foot he hasn’t got
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
June 1, 2024 at 17:41 #1696626I thought Voyage stayed on nicely inside the final furlong. He seemed to enjoy it running riderless round Tattenham Corner and down into the straight.
June 1, 2024 at 17:48 #1696630Ryan Moore couldn’t pull City Of Troy up could gone further, beautiful horse, and how he stays so calm before the race helps a lot

June 1, 2024 at 17:58 #1696633Havlin rode a good race, just beaten by an exceptional colt.
Chivers, regards the BC Classic. He has absolutely no chance unless he is trained on dirt for a couple months prior which will never happen. I fear Aidan is going to embarrass himself and the horse like he’s done on many previous occasions.
I don’t get the infatuation with winning it anyway. Do we see American dirt champions contesting the Derby, King George or Arc, not a chance.June 1, 2024 at 17:59 #1696634Anyone else who thinks the AMO horses finished right where they belong?
June 1, 2024 at 18:02 #1696635I was thinking exactly that Ruby!
June 1, 2024 at 18:10 #1696637I am sure Varian had a wry chuckle to himself
June 1, 2024 at 18:16 #1696641I’ll have some of what Tony Mullins is smoking.
He’s just said that COT “is the best (Derby winner) I’ve ever seen, the way he quickened.”
June 1, 2024 at 18:17 #1696642Licking my wounds with both Ambiente Friendly and Los Angeles ante-post (win only).
City Of Troy back to his best is good for racing.
Can see why the Eclipse might be where Ambiente Friendly might go next. I’d love to see a rematch in the Irish Derby with the first three home. Los Angeles got a bit worked up in the prelims, may yet do better if kept settled. Whether Ambiente Friendly’s temperament will hold with a trip to Ireland, not sure. I thought Havlin did a great job keeping him cool beforehand. Good-firm would help the Fanshawe horse as he’s got a fluent grass cutting action. City Of Troy is yet to race on a firmer surface, but his action suggests he will act well on it too. AF was going better than COT two out and maybe should have kicked on, but he wasn’t gaining at the line and imo the best horse won today.imo It’s probably an average Derby winning performance, not a really good one but not a bad one either. Possibly with better to come from all the first three. Despite his antics, Los Angeles looks ideal for Doncaster.
Value Is EverythingJune 1, 2024 at 18:18 #1696643Wd winners, he was very good, gave him
Absolutely no chance whatsoever, perfect ride from moore aswell, the jockeys where kind enough drifting a mile off the rail for him aswell, nontheless though, was a great rideCorrect horses where in behind, so he more than likely has ran around the 122 mark with a much improved AF in 2nd and LA in 3rd running to approx the 111 mark he had prior
As expected though, as with the oaks, so much deadwood in the race, absolute no hopers, group 3 at best, theres nothing to take out of the race bar the front 3, forget the rest completely in g1s
June 1, 2024 at 18:18 #1696644AOB did say earlier this year that it was one of the plans and that they would probably take in a dirt race prep along the way. Have a look at the race as it is, if there’s going to be a time to do it then it is now. Forever Young currently fav, you’ve got last years winner in there, Kentucky derby winner beaten next time. Nothing standout as of yet.
June 1, 2024 at 18:22 #1696647He will surely end the year in the breeders cup classic
