I’ve bet City of Troy at 20-1 after taking myself out of betting him at 33-1 yesterday.

I was looking forward to him today, and I was really impressed. It’s very rare that I will bet this far from the race these days, but I think that he’s an exciting horse

By a Belmont Stakes winner out of a Galileo mare who is a full sister to an Oaks winner, this colt has 1m4f written all over him.

I’d need to see more either in pattern company or in the clock before I could back him, though.

Unless I am imagining it, I posted about City Of Troy earlier and it has disappeared.

I thought it was a very impressive debut. The 20/1 for the Guineas looks fair enough but given how strongly he finished off his race, I see him as more of a Derby prospect.

One thing which would concern me is that AOB kept saying what a long stride the horse has. That might not be ideal for Epsom.

Congratulations to the OP on a shrewd bet.

By Triple Crown winner Justify out of a Galileo mare who is a full sister to an Oaks winner, I have not one scintilla of doubt about him both training on and staying 1m4f at three.

    “Henry Adams
    Won his maiden this week”

I’ve never seen an O’Brien horse debut in such fashion
lost count of how many times the horse got hit with the whip
the money must have been down and jockey told do not lose
looks like he wants the Derby trip now.. entered up in a race down in trip at the weekend
maybe he was just green…

Henry Adams won the debut race in which Auguste Rodin did
Commentary “showed signs of greenness, once hitting the front stayed on really well” be hard not to stay on well being hit 11 times in quick succession

He’s more a Derby type than Guineas but I don’t rate him at all on his two runs

Henry hangs on, but the runner up has an OR of 93 and unless you think he’s improved significantly today, Henry certainly isn’t shaping up to be Classic material at a mile.

Diego Velazquez 14-1 for now. 4-9 on debut so will give him a try.

I wasn’t convinced enough to hold on to that one. Looks like a Leger/2 miler horse already ;o)

Diego Velazquez is a striking colt with a white blaze and four white socks and I thought he won well there on debut.

But his pedigree and exuberant style of racing on debut suggest to me that 1m4f might be a stretch.

Might be more of a 1m-1m2f colt next year.

I see Mike thinks the opposite!

At least he looks good. It would have been a terrible shame to waste the great artist’s name on something rubbish.
