Cheers Flyers, I was thinking of you at the halfway stage when Stallings got to 9 under, bit like me
with Cantlay, except that Stallings would have been about 500 points higher in the odds. Relieved
for you that he didn’t win
As you say, still question marks about Cantlay/Smith, although at 25/24 they could improve. Smith
is a golfer I really like, he was my young pick to follow before last year and when he’s on song
he’s a birdie machine. Problem with him, and I mentioned this in my summing up of him in the Genesis,
is that he still has too many silly bogies. His tournament win in the Zurich Classic last year was him
at his best….67,62,68 and a fearless finishing round of 64. He wasn’t too shabby winning the Ozzy PGA
at the tail end of last year either. I think he’s a decent shout in one of the big ones over the next
year or two.Bookies are still pricing up this week’s tournaments, I’ll come back with my picks later. Here’s
hoping we can pick up some dosh later this week
February 20, 2018 at 11:14 #1343161WELL DONE DARREN
And with the places even though the dead heat place takes away some!!Keep it up guys

I hope my picks this week play better than last
February 20, 2018 at 11:26 #1343163Thank you guys very happy with Bubba and Smith as well.
Flyers and sasoon ante post bets for majors by me on page 3 here they are
February 20, 2018 at 11:44 #1343165Bets this week start at Honda classic.Since 2012 when Rory won the profile of winner been links proven sorts even Rory won a open and BMW at Wentworth,Harrington,Scott and last years winner Fowler as well fall into that envelope.
JUSTIN THOMAS 12/1
Was 3rd here 2 in 2015 while not a out and out links performer did win CJ Cup which got a links vibe to it.Had slow start to season but now back with caddie Jimmy Johnson. Can see him starting to pick up form again and a win here
TYRELL HATTON 28/1
1st time here last year look like winning here going into final round but lack of PGA experiance cost him with links feel to course he loves these type of layouts and i pencil him in since start of year for this event to.
DANIEL BERGER 50/1
Lost a playoff to Harrington here was gutted about that but in a way made him better player he loves these bermuda greens.Where won ST Jude classic last 2years.A MC no bother to him last week
MARTIN KAYMER 70/1
Was 4th here last year and he has good record in America won 2 majors and a players championship and a tough course like here suit him much better than last week.
DOMINIC BOZZELI 400/1
Though MC here last year he did shoot 69 in 1st round before a 74 was 10th at St jude on these greens before so likes them. And was 26th last week at Genesis he intresting at a 3 figure price
February 20, 2018 at 11:57 #1343168Bets for Qatar masters
CHRIS WOOD 22/1
Winner here in 2013 can win here again this week.Though be gutted to lose to Luiten at weekend he did return to form and coming back to a venue he won before and can do it again
JORDAN SMITH 55/1
Was 6th here last year and for me play ok at Oman in the 1st 2 rounds did well but fade after that but did enough for me in 2 rounds to suggest a good run here could be coming.
SEAN CROCKER 66/1
Making his debut here but shown promise on starts on tour this season and for me is someone to keep a eye on for rest of season
BENJAMIN HERBERT 45/1
Was 10th here before and is proven links player so no problem for him here the book on him is that on sundays he not fire but will come soon could be this week.
CALLUM SHINKWIN 140/1
Best chance of win was at Scottish open lost a playoff but he is proven under these conditions and shown promise in this part of the world open with 5under last week. Can go well here again
Good luck guys this week.
February 21, 2018 at 21:17 #1343389Qatar Masters
Compared to previous years, what a poor field this appears, exodus stateside, not sure the tour will be happy seeing this every other week, chance for one of the lesser lights to shine?
R Ramsay 65
C Hanson 140
L Slattery 140Just the three for modest outlay, all have form on desert tracks, slightly worried that Ramsay pulled out last week,Hanson shown steady progression, slattery showed glimpses last week that he is coming into form.
Stick up Honda before off, struggling to get matched on a couple.
February 21, 2018 at 22:22 #1343396Here are my picks for this week

RYAN MOORE 70/1
RYAN PALMER 80/1
IAN POULTER 90/1
JIMMY WALKER 100/1Qatar Masters
THORBJORN OLESEN 16/1

LUCAS BJEEREGAARD 80/1
ROBERT KARLSSON 175/1I am not being funny but hope two of yours don’t win Flyers cos I backed them last week!!

Good Luck Guys
February 22, 2018 at 01:31 #1343413No worries Raymo…….not much chance on my recent form,Bjeeregard was awful last week, hope he uses his own clubs for you Raymo

With you on J walker, plenty wind in forecast if weather correct,he,s texas boy.
Scouting party out for BigG……found him still counting wonga with Darren

What a life eh
February 22, 2018 at 03:14 #1343417Bit late chaps, but just getting these on before the off
Qatar Masters
Julian Suri 25/1 (50/1 1st round leader market)
He’s been jumping between the PGA Tour and this, and in general he’s a decent
enough player and that’s probably all you’d have to be to win this, as Flyers
said, it’s a pretty poor field. He can play a bit, as with his 1st 2 rounds
last time out in the Farmers, 66 and 67 to be right in the mix, but unfortunately
he followed that with 76 and 78. He hits the odd very low round so worth a few
shekels at 50s with Stan james.Shubhanker Sharma 33/1 (50/1 1st round leader market)
I’d have Sharma up with the favourites here, and he’s my no 1 bet in this. In this
field he stands out with 2 wins in his last 5 tournaments. There are a lot of old
war horses doing the rounds here, and at 21 Sharma can only get better. If he keeps
his form of the Joburg Open or the Maybank I think he takes this.David Horsey 70/1 (66/1 1st round leader market)
It was a toss up between Horsey and Adrian Otaegui for a 3rd pick, and I’ve just sided
with Horsey who showed his game was still there or thereabouts with an opening 63 in
the Dubai Desert Classic last month. Three further rounds on 70, 68 and 73 didn’t
quite get the job done, but he knows his way around here and has a squeak at those
odds. He’s another who can get off to a flyer, so worth a bit of interest in the 1st
round leader market.I’ll get mine done for the Honda Classic when I get up in the morning. Good luck
this week guys
February 22, 2018 at 10:40 #1343434Onto the east coast, where the time difference makes viewing a little easier.
Traditionally an event where the weather can play havoc with scoring.
Without that,the infamous “bear trap”is anything but.Ben An 110
Jimmy Walker 210
J Vegas 160
Sung Kang 240I can see the attraction with links form,no surprise to see Lowry/Harrington show up well.
I have gone for players that have played well here,or have done well on windy tracks, such as the valero in texas.
Snedeker also considered, but he’s drawn the Eldrick 3 ball, not ideal for quick player. As ever, best of luck all.
February 22, 2018 at 11:42 #1343442Honda Classic
Virtually having to run out the door, so I’ll just post who I’ve bet,
I don’t have time to explain why….I’ll just say they are goodSergio Garcia 18/1 (28/1 1st round leader)
Dylan Frittelli 80/1 (80/1 1st round leader market)
February 22, 2018 at 17:48 #1343502Alright chaps,
How are the selections getting on? Early days yet! The wind is up round there and been plenty of bogeys and doubles!!
For the record I had medium bets on Kisner, Bello, Berger and Walker. Small bets of a couple of pounds for interest on Fowler, Bozzelli, Harman.
February 24, 2018 at 00:48 #1343680Halfway stage in the Qatar Masters, and it seems that Sod’s Law still reigns supreme
in the BigG household. I should have seen this coming, but I hope this comment in my
post above doesn’t come home to haunt me ……….” It was a toss up between Horsey and Adrian Otaegui for a 3rd pick, and I’ve just sided
with Horsey who showed his game was still there or thereabouts with an opening 63 in
the Dubai Desert Classic last month.”Of course Otaegui topped the scorboard (joint) on day 1, and still leads the way after round
2
He was 70/1 for both bets. I’m going to have a strong word with myself for not
just including him when it was the toss of a coin which one I went for. Horsey is 5 back,
and my other 2 ended up 3 under, with the cut at 4 under. If I had a cat I’d kick it’s
a**e.February 24, 2018 at 08:07 #1343694Its a battlefield out there…….cries of” man down”….becoming all too familiar.
Half way BigG,feel the pain, occupational hazard, horsey going ok this morning, not seen any pictures, this course needs a little wind to spice it up.
Darren going well both events, nice to see them squirming stateside as they approach 15,16,17….at this rate could even par win the event?,I,m gone european, hoping one of your guys can do the biz…..fingers crossed.
February 24, 2018 at 12:31 #1343767Good job they don’t have ten shot rule in the US!! Most of the field would have made the cut!!
I am just happy two of mine made the cut!!
Like you say Flyers anything can happen
February 24, 2018 at 17:54 #1343853Sean Crocker in decent postion in final round of Qatar masters only 2 off lead and few nervous players in front of him if rain comes the way he been finishing on final 3 holes has 2 eagles at 16 already so bang in there
Thomas and Berger main hopes while my rag Bozzeli is still there at the honda with 3rd round starting now it has
February 25, 2018 at 08:54 #1343915My last remaining man in the Qatar Masters, Horsey, started off with a double bogey
and didn’t recover after that, so whilst I’m following this I’ve just grabbed Ollie
Fisher at 14s. He was cut to 8s seconds later, I noticed Paddy Power were slow to
react, but as I’m posting him a price now when it’s well gone, in the unlikely event
that he pulls it off I’ll copy the bet as it smacks as a bit of aftertiming. He’s
still 3 off the lead with 6 to play, so it’s unlikely he’ll be running off with
the silverware, but it gives a bit of interest. - AuthorPosts
