Hi Darren, good luck with your treble, that would bring about a nice Christmas :good:
I did get my bets on for the Hero Challenge, but hurriedly before heading out to catch
the ferry with MrsG. I just got back in so I’m posting these late. If any of them come up
I’ll post the bet so it doesn’t look like aftertiming.

    Hero World Challenge

Rickie Fowler 8/1 (11/1 1st round leader market)

We all know he has the game to win anything, it’s just that you never know
when he’s about to turn it on, and not throw it away with a poor last round
when he’s a 54 hole leader. Unfortunately he’s not exactly setting the heather
on fire at the moment as he is +1, and 6 shots off the lead. I can forget the
1st round betting, but maybe he will pick up.

Bryson DeChambeau 11/1 (12/1 1st round leader market)

He’s made us both a pretty penny Darren, and I though I couldn’t desert
him here. He’s level par after 10, so not exactly what I was hoping for
at this stage. Like Fowler, I can write him off for the 1st round leader,
but he’s strong enough to muscle his way back into contention.

Alex Noren 33/1 (20/1 1st round leader market)

At last I’ve got something to shout about….I took him as a long shot
    in a 20 man field, and he’s doing well. He’s 3 under after 14, and 2 off
the lead. He might have a small squeak at the 1st round if he gets his
skates on. At 20/1 in the 1st round betting I’ve just backed him on the
nose, so he’ll have to be the outright leader. I’m beginning to think I
should have had him e/w, but even if he doesn’t get to the front today
he’s in a nice position at the moment.

Bubba is doing very nicely for you Darren, fingers crossed :good:

Holy sh*t Darren, your treble isn’t looking half bad mate, Perez
joint leader at 8 under, DJ 3rd at 4 under, 3 off the lead and
your man Fox has just started his second round, which is well
under way, he’s 3 under just 4 back from the leader who has
finished his 2nd round at 7 under. I’m going to be watching
this one into the wee small hours :good:

Gone now mate treble has :negative:

3 french players in Sordet,Langasque and Perez my best hopes in Marutuis bad round today by Perez

DJ though at halfway stage one behind the leaders on a course that has 5 par fives and in very good spot to overtake leaders tonight

Bad luck with the treble mate, but DJ might be the man to get you back on track. Perez
has kind of stalled for you, but if he were to finish off with anything like his 1st
round he would have to have a shout.

I see my man Cameron Smith is eating it up down under, I said above that it was going to
be hard to get past him and leishman, but that their single figure odds didn’t do much
for me……hell mend me for looking a gift horse in the bloody mouth, they are 1st and
2nd and have it between themselves

I need a good round from Nauren in the World hero Challenge tonight, he’s 6 under, 4 off
the pace, with 2 rounds to go so he’s not out of it. Fowler is 1 further back, and
DeChambeau looks out of it barring a miracle.

We’re still in there so good luck mate :good:

    QBE Shootout

    BILLY HORSCHEL BRANDT SNEDECKER 13/2

Sneds won event before with Dufner while Billy won a pairs this year in Zurich open.Should be shorter in better no doubt Champ and Kisner be fancied but this tight track not suit power of Champ while NA and De Chambeau for me Bryson did disappoint in Albany and for me Sneds and Billy

    SA Open bets tomorrow

    BRANDT SNEDECKER 100/1 Us open

While got DJ 11/1 R Henley 150/1 for this major i look at current prices think Sneds is value here best US open finish was 8th in 2010 which was at Pebble beach same placce be next year and he won here before every chance of bold showing by him next year.

    Bets for SA Open

    ERIK VAN ROOYEN 30/1

Though a MC last year before that was 33th and 18th so can handle this track he had a fine season shoot up the rankings did blow a few chances on sunday but back in homeland every chance of home victory

    DEAN BURMESTER 22/1

This power packed player found form in last 2 events at Needbank and in DP Tour championship when on sunday if not gone in water been closer he been 4th and 10th every chance of going even closer here this week.

    SEAN CROCKER 40/1

Big hitter from America who i expect big things from next year a 9th place finish in Australia was good by him though making course debut every chance take a shine here

    TAPPIO PULKANANEN 66/1

This finn is one of many from that country to have players making a impact i think be best of the lot he is likes South Africa did well in joburg open last year was leader during 2nd round but stalled over the weekend. 12months on much improved now one i like

BigG any views on events and my bet on sneds for us open

    South African Open

Matt Wallace 12/1 (16/1 1st round leader market at Bushwillow)

Wallace has really burst onto the scene this year, with wins in the Indian Open,
the BMW International Open and Made In Denmark. He finished T5 when he played in
SA in the Nedbank Gold Challenge most recently and if he keeps that kind of form
he has a good shout here.

Charles Schwartzel 16/1 (22/1 skybet 1st round leader market at Firethorn)

He’s had an okay year by his standards, top 10s in the European Open
and European Masters but no wins. He likes it back home, he’s had 6
top 5s in this and I’m hoping playing in his back yard will rekindle
    his fire.

Erik Van Rooyen 28/1 (25/1 1st round leader market at Firethorn)

Darren has already made the case for him, I’m in agreement, he’s a young man
with potential who is worth a go at these odds.

Kurt Kitayama 50/1 (30/1 1st round leader market at Firethorn)

It was only his 3rd European Tour Event when Kurt won the Mauritius Open last time
out. His start in the competition, with 2 65s was just superb golf. He kept his
bottle when going into the final round with a very solid 68 for a 2 shot win. It’s
asking a lot so early in his career to follow up this week, but I was impressed
with his steady approach and his ball control. He can belt it out there too, and
he can putt….what’s not to like

Darren I like the look of your bet on Snedeker in the US Open. He’s a streaky
player and when he’s hot he’s sizzling. He likes the course too, so not without
    a chance.

Darren I see our pal Nathan has nominated your “Darrens Sports Bets” for the
thread of the year in the TRF Awards 2018 Nominations Thread. Good shout Nathan,
    Darren deserves it :good:

    QBE Shootout

    Donald/Landry 33/1 (20/1 1st round leader market)

For a bit of interest in this format I’ve stuck on the outsiders. Donald is
not in the greatest of form, but the change and playing with a partner might
bring out the best in him. Landry is a good player when he gets it going,
winner of the Texas Open last year and capable of shooting low. It’s not a
course for the bombers, which might suit this pair, neither being particularly
    long but generally accurate.

I see that Erik Van Rooyen is a N/R Darren, so we’ll both get our money back on him, it’s
already in my account. I couldn’t be happier with the start of Kurt Kitayama in the South
African Open. This is only his 4th start in the tour, and he hit it out the park with a flawless
8 under par 63, 6 birdies and an eagle is impressive. That puts him joint 2nd behind Oosthuizen
just 1 off the lead. More importantly at this stage he was the top 1st round scorer at Firethorn,
so my 30/1 bet on him is up :yahoo:

Lets hope there is more to come for both of us mate :good:

BigG in the end Oosthuizein ran out a easy winner one more event next week in South Africa to go

When you and Raymo look back at year what you think what was best winners for you and heart breaking loss mine be below

Did you see majors blog by ben coley from sportinglife golf expert he is I agree with him on one of our pals that is. CAMERON SMITH 150/1 Us open if still 3 figure price not seen latest odds he one to be intrested in terms of EW Bet.

Had a golden 4 days had Victory Bond 4/1 in AW finals then Sloane Stephens 66/1 winner in Miami then
Ian Poulter 100/1 in Houston top it off with General Principle in irish national.2 in the middle were in this thread what a weekend that was am happy with last winner on thread which was Aaron Rai 80/1 with Fitzpatrick 2nd.

In terms of a loss got to be Ryan Fox in irish open it true got something back on him at 80/1 I still not belive how Knox got those 2 putts in on 18th hole.Another loss was Patrick Reed 70/1 in event that Casey won Reed was level on final hole that birdie putt was shocking.Rose chucking it away when 1 in front when Keegan Bradley won another event mad at.

How about you BigG and Raymo in terms of wins and events where bets chuck it away.
