I’m running late getting my golf bets on this week. The Open De Espana has started,
but my old pal, RAFAEL CABRERA BELLO, who I’ve had a few bets on recently, is one of
the later starters so I’ll have a few quid on at 12/1. He is the class act on recent
form, unfortunately his price reflects that, but it will give me an added interest.

In The Heritage I’m going for a couple. I think that BILL HAAS has shown some improved
form this year, I know Raymo has fancied him recently…..but you’ve deserted him this
week Raymo ? He just missed out in the Valspar and wasn’t disgraced 24th in the Masters.
    40/1 is worth a punt.

My other is DANNY LEE, who I keep expecting to pop up with a tournament. He has a
decent game, but threw away his chance in the Waste Management in February with a
dismal final round of 73. I think that affected his confidence and he hasn’t played
well since, although he looked to be finding his game again last week in the Masters
where he had a very respectable T17. 60/1 makes him interesting, and if he gets off
to the kind of start he did in the Masters he could well lead this after round 1.
There is some 70/1 with some bookmakers who I don’t bet with (888sport and 32red)
but I’ll settle for 50/1 with Skybet in the 1st round leader market.

    Best of luck guys :good:

    It gets worse!!!

I have to have a rant at this!!

He finished SEVEN TEN FIVE !!!! That is nine over par for the last three holes of a tournament where he is two off the lead with three to play!!
I play off 23 and if I finished seven ten five I would be chucking my clubs in the lake!!

I think this may call for a serious re think of my strategy for golf betting…….

Maybe I should have all my bet on betfair exchange andanyone that is in contention with saay a round and a half left I should be looking to cover or lay back because Larrazabal varied between 7/1 and 3/1 at times during round two and three and was only 7/1 during the final round and I was on at 80/1. Perhaps I should be looking to lay him at say 8 or 9/1 and recoup my stake and a bit and just sit and watch and not particularly care whether he wins or not.

I did this earlier in the season with Ernie Els and got my whole stake for all my bets on that tournament not just on Els.

Does anyone know how active and strong the market is on betfair during any given tournament ?

It would be good to know and then maybe I can amend my strategy accordingly.

Apologies for the previous rant but for God’s sake twenty two shots for three holes is unacceptable from a pro!!

Good Luck in the Heritage tonight Darren :good: :good:

Raymo my commiserations on that horror story in Spain  You must have been
pulling your hair out. I’m gutted for you, I really thought you were in with a good
shout. I’m not a Betfair user Raymo so I can’t answer your question about them.

I hate a bit of aftertiming, but with my man Haas all but out of it, I thought that at
the odds of 12/1 that Brandon Grace was the best priced of those before the off in the
final round. I know they are under way as I type this, and Grace has edged into the lead
at the 10th, but I stuck 30 quid on him to win with Betvictor. If he manages to hold on
I’ll post my bet slip to show I’m not speaking out of my a**e, and if he loses I’ll moan
    about it later.

Good luck Darren, your 40/1 is looking pretty good at this time, I hope I haven’t jinxed him for
    you my friend

Cheers Raymo, I just kind of jumped on Darren’s bandwagon but I’m glad that I did.
12/1 was a nice earner, when my guys were out of it, but 40/1 !!!…….well done

Thank you Raymo and BigG for comments very happy i got 40/1 on him when you think only Jason Day was higher in golf rankings 40/1 a massive price for him. also be cut for open glory which BigG knows i put him up here at 66/1 late last year

Raymo i not a betfair user so no idea about sorry to hear about Larrazanbal and i hope you still bet on the golf as well. you and bigG are nice members on here when it comes to golf

I’ll more stick to horses and golf Darren, but I’ll have the occasional tennis bet.
I rowed in with you last week in the Monte Carlo with Andy Murray, I thought that after
Dvokovic was out that Murray would win, but he was really disappointing against Nadal. I
wish he had Lendl still with him, he seemed to be the only one that was able to improve
Murray’s psychological side. He has the game to beat anyone, but he isn’t mentally strong
enough. It pains me to say that about him, as a fellow Scot, but he needs to control his
mental side, he’s like a stroppy kid when things aren’t going his way. I hope he manages
to sort it out as I think he has more Major wins in him.
