I mean its theoretically impossible if energumene runs to the mid 170s like he surely can given his formlines (may not act away from ire, who knows) but shishkins not a 190 horse lol so if energumene runs his rating and shishkin runs to high 170s it still wouldnt be near the scenario youv given, ifs and buts though.
I must add ruby, what form is it your saying energumene is overrated on? Given that irish form is stronger 9/10 times in the current world… beating horses like janidil and franco de port further than the likes of allaho has only points to him being a proper grade 1 horse, Hes only been beaten on a bumper debut? I cant see how hes “overrated” hes definitely ran to 170+ fairly easily? What form are you saying hes overrated on??
January 22, 2022 at 07:51 #1579164The Irish Arkle (sponsored by Ward solocitors) where he beat Franco Du Port und Blackbow who both habe struggled in 4-5 races since. Darver Star was also in the race! Don’t have to say much.
Shishkin was always impressive and has too much left in the tank. You will see that today and stick your 9/10 superior Irish form in your…..
Just sit back and enjoy.January 22, 2022 at 08:24 #1579172Had a bit on First Flow. Only Open Grade 1 winner in the field (fair enough, that will almost certainly change soon!), only horse with a CD win, and I think he would win more than once if this race was ran 17 times.
So have had a couple of points at 16’s.

January 22, 2022 at 08:33 #1579174But he beat them by 20 lengths eased lol the form has been upheld since, shishkins novice form is very, very similar to energumenes
Shishkin was “not” impressive at aintree though was he? Energumene would beat that running of shishkin would he not?
Nothing wrong with thinking shishkin will win but your talking nonsense on energumenes form lol theres no evidence at this point to suggest hes overrated atall
Ps, theres no doubt about the irish form being dominant 9/10 times lol bar when a horse like shishkin comes along they could pretty much decide to win any british race currently if they so decided to
January 22, 2022 at 09:11 #1579177I never back odds-on shots, but Shishkin’s 8/11 is quite a decent price.
January 22, 2022 at 09:53 #1579186I think Shishkin will win but its just a gut feeling nothing more and on that basis he’s a terrible price, there will be much more likely 8/11 winners today if you go digging. How can anyone have any certainty that he’s better than Energuermene?
Each to their own. I think you’ve either got to be fairly sure Shishkin is a superstar or Energuermene isn’t all that his rating and record suggests or a bit of both to want to get involved at odds on.January 22, 2022 at 10:04 #1579187Energumene appears to be a sea of Blue this morning. Can’t say I’m surprised. The prices of the front two looked too far apart. As Tinman says, how can anyone have any comfortable opinion one is better than the other?

January 22, 2022 at 10:27 #1579190Agree about First Flow TTC. I backed him in this last year, so maybe I am being a bit sentimental but he is the best horse Shishkin has encountered to date and he will keep him honest. I am not saying he will win but 16s is too big and I will join you in having a bit on him.
January 22, 2022 at 10:49 #1579196I think you can form an opinion on who will win based on your eye for a horse. You won’t always get it right. I seldom do in the guineas for example.
If Shishkin goes 1/1, I’ll be lumping on and take it on the chin if the Mullins horse kills him
Nicky would have pulled Shishkin out if he wasnt 100%. I think he will be better for running against better opposition as Engergumene will take him further into the race.
First Flow is a good price especially if the front two kick on too early and battle it out too far out so always a chance for an upsetGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
January 22, 2022 at 11:01 #1579200The other 2 are going to set this is for Shiskin , I’ll be honest I reckon EE wont even be second , FF will be primed for this , I’m traveling south for brothers bday but hoping to be there to see this

January 22, 2022 at 11:03 #1579203The Mullins horse doesn’t have to make the running though
Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
January 22, 2022 at 11:07 #1579206I think First Flow will make the running. He stays further and Bass gave him an attacking ride last year. I can’t see him waiting in behind and letting the big two have their own way.
January 22, 2022 at 11:10 #1579209He doesn’t but I reckon he will , I reckon they,ll try and out stay him , either way it won’t matter , Shiskin will pick them off when he wants to

January 22, 2022 at 11:10 #1579210I agree nathan, if energumene runs his rating, we will certainly see how good shishkin is at the deep end, hasnt really had to get dig in there yet over fences, i wont be betting in the race unless i can get a good in play price about either, could potentially happen if energumene bounces off, but regardless would like to see the front two pull clear from FF, if FF gets anywhere within 5 lengths of either, something hasnt ran to 170+
Cant wait for this now
January 22, 2022 at 11:41 #1579220I’ve stuck a tenner on Amoola Gold at 100-1. Just in case.
January 22, 2022 at 12:01 #1579230The season needed this. Bollocks to March. What a fantastic race in prospect, and the build up all week has been great too.
