I must admit as much as I like Vinndication I wouldn’t be touching him at his current price, Cyrname should still be favourite. I’ve seen many times down the years in horse racing that whenever everyone agrees on something it rarely pays to follow the crowd. Judging by the drift on Cyrname everyone has the same opinion about him over 3M and going left handed which surprises me I thought he’d have a bit more of a loyal following. Earlier on in the week when I was planning on taking him on it was largely on the basis of him probably being a short priced favourite which he’s not. Whatever we might say about studying the form etc the game is largely about guesswork, presumptions and gut instinct and my gut instinct is Cyrname is not going to stay well enough to win this. Saying all of that if I was a layer I’d want more than just Vinndication running for me to lay what must be getting close to 3/1 in places now for Cyrname as I don’t think he’ll run that badly.

When Vinndication was 11/2 he was very tempting

At the current price having never won left handed cant have him as any value

Thats what clinched the no bet race for me

Cyrname to win this pulling a cart. What a price.

Sam Spinner on the drift, so I’ll have a second look tomorrow morning.

I’ll have another go on La Bague Au Roi. I was convinced she was going to walk this last year, but it was a write off. Better conditions tomorrow will suit and a wind op will only help her cause.

I’m not going to back him, but Mister Whitaker is an interesting runner. Always liked him and am intrigued to see him over further, but I can’t justify having a third.

One of my favourite races of the season and I’m gutted I can’t watch it in person. All the same it’s a very open renewal and will make for fun viewing.

Tatling, I agree with you about Cyrname. I’ve decided not to have a bet here, but Cyrname does look like a very big price.

Great line up this year, and should be quite the race.

    I’ll stay with Aye Right

Maybe add Cyrname if he comes available at something like 7/2.

Just because he’s a shorter price it doesn’t make him any more or less likely to win , I’ve backed vinndication as he,s the potential improver in the field , personally I think cyrame has the bigger question to ask today

Going change: ground is now soft all over. And if the rain continues I would not be surprised if it is almost heavy by the time this race is due off. Not convinced it is going to play to Cyrname’s strengths.

Been a significant move for la bague au roi

Would love to see her get back to the horse she was before she ran on that rattling fast ground at leopardstown

Easy to forget she comfortably beat the likes of lostintranslation, topofthegame and santini at her best

I do think La Bague Au Roi was a tempting price this morning. The only thing that puts me off is it is almost two years since she showed her best form. It is a real leap of faith to back her.

It’s between Sam Spinner and Ballyootic for me backed them both to win at 8/1 and 7/1.

Vindication and Cyrname both better horses going r/h. So hopefully either Sam or Bally will be able to see off the rest of the field. Happy with the prices.

Absolutely dotted up and could have gone around again. Pleased with my Vinndication e/w; well done to those who backed Aye Right e/w at nice prices earlier in the week. :good:
