Epatante wouldn’t have to give honeysuckle 7 pounds…
November 29, 2020 at 23:26 #1512603Maybe if Honeysuckle sets off straight after the handicap chase.
November 30, 2020 at 09:51 #1512613Honeysuckle had first run and still nearly got done for a turn of foot by Ronald effing Pump yesterday!
November 30, 2020 at 10:36 #1512616Honeysuckle took a blow 3 out the jockey said. Will come on a fair bit for it trainer said.
November 30, 2020 at 15:14 #1512637“Honeysuckle had first run and still nearly got done for a turn of foot by Ronald effing Pump yesterday!”
We mustve been watching a different race
She travelled all over them kicked away with her superior turn of foot then simply got tired
Will come on massively for the run id suspect (she had a prep for the Hatton grace last season)
Though she surely won’t be running here anyway she isn’t a quick enough jumper
November 30, 2020 at 15:20 #1512640I thought De Bromhead was leaning towards the Champion in his post race interview yesterday. Or at least a bit more enthusiastic about the idea than he was last year.
I wanted her to run in last season’s Champion. This season I think it would be a mistake. She can take on Epatante at level weights but I doubt she can beat her for speed.
I thought it was a top class ride from Rachael Blackmore yesterday.
November 30, 2020 at 15:21 #1512641Yes agree FF91 don’t think she will come here once they sit down and discuss it in Feb/March. Or at least I hope not!
November 30, 2020 at 18:15 #1512658What did HDB see this weekend that would make him even remotely entertain the notion of a Champion Hurdle for Honeysuckle? For me that well and truly died a death this weekend, and I see no reason after publicly stating they chose her optimum trip for Cheltenham last year, that they would change their minds this year, even more so based on what we’ve just seen. She still jumps high (probably because they’ve schooled over fences) and Epatante would out jump her and beat her. The mares is there for the taking and that’s where she will go IMO.
November 30, 2020 at 19:44 #1512660Epanante is a more than worthy favourite but it doesn’t mean that she should be scaring everyone away , it’s still 3 months to Cheltenham ( I am counting the days ) and plenty can change before then , we ve still to see Goshen to
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
November 30, 2020 at 20:36 #1512669I completely agree HDLTG. She wont be scaring away whatever WPM has, but that 7lbs is massive.
December 5, 2020 at 23:53 #1513272The Epatante performance last weekend was initially very impressive visually, but broken down with hindsight I see it very differently.
The carnage at the first basically put Daryl Jacob in an impossible position of trying to make all aboard a smooth traveller who comes from off the pace. It was only ever set up for the mare at that point and the writing was on the wall for Sceau Royal et al.
It also reminded me of a couple of years ago, where joe public had already started coronating Buveur D’Air with a third Champion Hurdle having seen off Samcro with aplomb.
That’s not to crab the chances of Epatante, although she really does make limited appeal at this stage in what looks a stronger race. Myself I’ll be looking to give Saint Roi another chance at Christmas and hope that the race is run more satisfactorily.
December 9, 2020 at 18:53 #1513636Epatante out to 3.25 on exchanges from 2.8 last week. Wouldn’t have expected that.
Starting to think is she a doubt for Christmas hurdle?December 9, 2020 at 18:57 #1513638I’m sure Nicky will let us all know at the earliest opportunity if she is not running …
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
December 9, 2020 at 19:55 #1513642If he says she’s not well she will run
If he says she is absolutely flying expect her to be pulled
December 11, 2020 at 20:47 #1513868Goshen 28/1 to win tomorrow and this with betfair sportsbook
December 12, 2020 at 07:47 #1513902I’ve had a bit on that.
Moore says about today’s race, “I think he’s a phenomenal horse and I think he can win.”
December 12, 2020 at 10:46 #1513924I will have to take that as well I think lads. I know that’s it’s one of those too good to be true offers we’ve all seen before. I would kick myself though if I missed that.
