Uttoxeter 220 – 2pts win Cottingham @ 7-1
February 16, 2008 at 18:12 #143903Lingfield 505 – Calthedral Walk 1pt e/w, 1pt win @ 14-1 – 2nd + 3.75 pts
Haydock 210 Gunner Jack 1pt e/w 14-1 – 2nd +4.5 pts
Ascot 150 – Pace Shot 1pt e/w @ 12-1- 3rd + 4 pts
Ascot 335 – Zahras Place 1/2pt e/w @ 50-1 – 2nd +5.5 Pts
17 points laid out, 17.75 returned,
Overall profit so far = +15.75
Not the best of days, but a tiny profit was made so not catastrophic disaster anteposter was shocking, banker ran too bad to be true and had gunner jack beaten a head, and thought zahras place was going to get the win at one point.
February 16, 2008 at 21:05 #143985well done so far, I read this thread and thought I’d start my own laying topic on here, just don’t want it to be seen as another boring laying thread as seen on the BF forums!
Keep it up

February 18, 2008 at 18:17 #144530Just a top up bet,
Another 2pts e/w + 1.75 win on Won In The Dark for the Triumph hurdle while he’s still 20-1.
February 18, 2008 at 20:45 #144552Just looking at tuesdays racing and saw a few horses that I like the look of
Taunton 250 – Histoire Du Moeurs – 1 pt e/w 33-1 (currently 47-1 betfair)
Has a good chance of getting into this if coming back to his flat form, wouldnt have been suited to the fast pace of debut and probably wasnt over that on reappearance, has potential to get competitive if back to best, more a chance at a price than anything.
Taunton 320 – Climate Change – 2pts win @ 5-1 (Currently 26/5)
– Space Cowboy – 1pt win @ 13-2(Currently 34/5)
1 pt Rev F/C the pairBoth bred for the task and open to improvement, both look better value than the fav.
Taunton 350 – Commander Vic – 2pts win @ 9/2 (currently 22-5)
Should have a bit of improvement in him as quite a young horse who is bred for ground and trip, looks the one to beat at 9/2.
Taunton 420 – Come On Johnny – 1pt e/w @ 10-1 (currently 23/2)
Another who was very good on the flat and hs the potential to put in a very good run if back to his best at a decent price
Sedgefield 300 – Yeoman Spirit – 1 pt e/w @ 14-1 (currently 31/2)
Is quite nicely bred and capable of going well on this better ground
1 pt double Climate Change and Commander Vic
1pt double Space Cowboy and Commander VicFebruary 18, 2008 at 21:25 #144560Racing Post Chase
Palarshan – 1pt e/w 1pts win @ 16-1 (generally)
Went pretty well in this race behind Farmer Jack in 2005, hasnt done much racing since but ran a few decent races at shorter distances this season and has been laid off for a while seemingly with this in mind, is quite well weighted for one who may have improvement.
Madison Du Berlais 1/2pt win @ 31s (Betfair)
Ever consistant, ran a good race behind Vodka bleu at this distance in December and open to another good run having had a month since beaten in the Knowhere race.
Iron Man 1/2pt win @ 119s (Betfair)
Fully competent on his day, bowen yard isnt really firing and he may not show up but 119s is just too big a price on a young horse with his ability at what looks his optimal trip.
February 19, 2008 at 18:03 #144785Absolutely shocking day picking, only results were the non runners.
-11 points for the day.
Profit = +4.75[/b]
February 19, 2008 at 20:14 #144809Cheltenham Gold Cup
HALCON GENELARDAIS 1pt e/w, 1pt win @ 50-1 (Hills, Corals, totesport, bet365)
Ive always said that I dont like the Gold Cup as a betting prospect, and I have always fancied this horse as a possible contender at a gallop, however, his second in the welsh national to miko de beauchene, giving him 21lbs was rated 171 at the time and with miko running to a rating of 161 on saturday there is the possiblity that he is under rated. Nevertheless he looks to be the best of the true staying chasers around and if reports are correct that Denman is likely to try galloping kauto star out of the race then 50-1 on Halcon Genelardais is a very good price as one who wont be out galloped.

February 22, 2008 at 12:46 #145487Have been waiting to see bulwark making his hurdling debut for some time now and he has arrived in the betting for todays class 3 hurdle event at a best price of 5-1. I think that is exceptional value and I have to get a decent bet on him. If this horse is anywhere near race fit, which you would hope for with the class3 debut entry then he should have these well beaten.
345 Warwick – Bulwark 5 points win @ 5-1
February 22, 2008 at 13:33 #145506think nomecheki looks over priced in the first at sandown at 6-1, jay pemberton has ridden a few decent races this season and this horse was 3 races unbeaten in bumpers in france so may have a good chance in what isnt the strongest of races.
Nomecheki 2pts win @ 13/2
February 23, 2008 at 13:19 #145839-14 points after a dismal mid week campaign, hope can pull it back today
1445 Fairyhouse – Silverhand – 3pts win @ 7/2
1450 Fairyhouse – One Cool Cookie – 1 pt win @ 4-1
1405 Kempton – Alsadaa 1pt 17/2, Pigeon Island 1pt @ 7-1, Donaldson 1/2pt e/w 25-1
1440 Kempton – Lead On 1 pt@ 5-1
1550 Kempton – Troque 1pt e/w @ 12-1

1605 Newcastle – Burnbank 1/2 pt e/w @ 50-1

Pigeon Island 1pt @ 7-1 won
Pilca 1pt @ 14-1 won
19 points laid out, 23 returned
4 points profit

February 24, 2008 at 13:28 #146091Fontwell 245 – Dr Hart 1pt @ 15/2
O’maley 1pt @ 3-1Oscar park has not looked to have lived up to what he was thought to be on many occasions this season, at odds on he must be taken on and think these are the two biggest threats
Naas 240 – Sonnium 1pt e/w 1pt win @ 12-1
Ran a good race behind Won In The Dark in the durkan homes and was comprehensively mugged off by Beau Michael next time, when the latter seta really slow pace and stole first run on him (tactics that worked again yesterday) can get competitive of a reasonable rating and looks likely to improve.
Naas 310 Casey Jones 1pt e/w 1 pt win
I was told to keep an eye out for this horse a couple of years ago, and where as he didnt make a big impression over hurdles, he did run quite well and it is a very interesting choice of race to start him over fences. With the two market leadaers only having run recently the form is there to be shot at.
Naas 345 Peplum 2 pts win @ 5-1
This horse came over from france earlier in the season and has made a decent impression, looking to be winning easily when falling at the last he made up for that with a win next time out and 5-1 looks to be a decent price for a young horse on the improve
Naas 415 Tumbling Dice 1 pt @ 10-1
Beaten by Dont be biting last time when giving weight away to that horse, he could be value for a reversal, the two market leaders are by no means unstoppable forces, nor consistant and he is well priced to put in a good run.
February 24, 2008 at 13:56 #146094Exeter 255 – Mark Of Love 2pts @ 7-1
Was an improving horse in january but came up against a fast pace behind franchoek which wouldnt have suited, should like the good ground at exeter today and is well handicapped in weaker company so could put in a decent run
February 24, 2008 at 14:35 #146107240 Naas Motaraqeb – 1pt safety @ 6-1
I put the horse up last time (sublimities work buddy) and had looked at him as a safety for a slow pace against sonnium, he has since pulled in a decent gamble and I’ll throw him in.
