Problem for me with Angels Breath is that Shantous don’t win these top 2 mile races and are usually better over further.
I was saying similar in last seasons Supreme thread and I think he’d fare better in the JLTDecember 3, 2019 at 17:18 #1476458Cannot see beyond Fakir at the moment. I know he loses the allowance but I am not sure that will stop him. His jumping is electric.
December 3, 2019 at 17:22 #1476459Chacun Pour Soi, Jack!
December 3, 2019 at 19:26 #1476477Fakir could probably do with a shorter run in than the one at Cheltenham
Can see something getting past him
What it will be at this stage I have no idea
December 3, 2019 at 19:37 #1476478Such a shame because those last 2 fences would of told us more about chances and likely targets!
December 3, 2019 at 19:53 #14764818lb is a lot of weight, fakir will have to improve again to win not getting it
And the other novices will get better at jumping with experience negating his advantage
It doesnt look a good race at this stage though if no laurina, the british novices look especially average
December 4, 2019 at 08:06 #1476506Jack1092, Chacun Pour Soi.
December 4, 2019 at 11:50 #1476515I actually forgot he even had a debut tbh. For some reason i thought he went straight to Punchestown lol.
Regarding it being too early, i don’t think it is tbh.
Footpad- November
Min- November
Douvan- November
Vautour- NovemberI’d say Chacun is the outlier, and he tends to have them out by now. Last seasons weather changed things.
So far, imo, the 2mile options haven’t blown me away at all. Laurina has looked the best.
Obviously, we’ll see Tornado Flyer probably on Saturday and we’ll learn more over Xmas.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!December 4, 2019 at 15:46 #1476526Yeah, you need to see how they get on in graded company, I suppose. Mullins definite 2 milers novice chasers so far are Royal Rendezvous, Cashback and Tornado Flyer; the only out and out stayer is Carefully Selected and then the inbetweeners are Laurina, Salsaretta, Melon and Faugheen. Not a bad crop so far.. Stormey Ireland, Breaken, Coquin Mans, Allaho & Next Destination still to jump a fence also.
December 4, 2019 at 17:41 #1476534I think i read in his stable tour that Next Destination hadn’t made it back to the yard yet and there hadn’t been a date set- a worry!
Breaken potentially would be interesting but he ran terrible at Punchestown

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!December 26, 2019 at 14:30 #1478104As I suspected. Laurina not a 2 miler.
December 26, 2019 at 14:39 #1478107I doubt Laurina would have won over any distance today.
December 26, 2019 at 15:41 #1478121My cash out on notebook now over double my stake
He should be clear fav as fakir wont be getting the weight in march so it’s hard to see him reversing form
December 26, 2019 at 15:59 #1478123Youre right Cork. She broke a blood vessel.
FF why did you cash out? Don’t you think Notebook will win the Arkle?
December 26, 2019 at 16:04 #1478124I never said I did
He has every chance as the british horses are rubbish
December 26, 2019 at 17:04 #1478135Thanks Mike, I did not realise that. Clearly a legitimate explanation for her run and I hope she is OK but horses who break blood vessels never carry my money when they return. From a selfish point of view I am glad I did not get involved in the race today, although pleased to see De Bromhead and Bkackmore have another Grade 1 winner.
