Australia 7/2 fav after the Derby with bet365 for this now.
Corals go 6/1 Australia Nathan and I think that is more realistic given Treve’s imperious display last year. I’d like to see how some of the placed horses at Epsom go on before deciding the strength of the form.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
June 9, 2014 at 10:51 #481776Timeform rating Australia 129p, provisionally an above average Derby winner with more to come. Still has to improve another 9 lbs to beat an in form Treve in the Arc.

You don’t think Aiden O’Brien will be sweating on Mighty Yar being supplemented for The Eclipse if Australia is aimed at that race then Ginger?

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
June 9, 2014 at 17:47 #481815SHAMKALA 20/1 best 3yo filly in France she prove it with win in french oaks. unbeaten too can win from front or held up.Be very hard to beat.
I reckon Shamkala will need to be special to beat Taghrooda over a mile and a half Darren. It will be interesting to see how the French Oaks turns out but Taghrooda has set down a pretty strong looking marker to pass.

I fancy We Are to give her a run for her money in the Diane. By the way, Just A Way, Timeform’s highest-rated horse at the moment won again today in Japan, but only just.
That said, Treve is still my Arc favourite for the time being. This year’s could be an exceptional renewal if everyone shows up.
See you are still going with the Moody quote SeaSparrow, glad to know you respect his opinion more than your own trainers…Plenty of them have said the same thing but glad to see you choose Moody ahead of them….Well done…

Still butthurt that he said that you had to bring it up even in a completely unrelated thread, are ya’? I might just keep it that while longer now that I know it still pisses you off.
Anyway, go have an argument with yourself little buddy coz’ this ain’t the thread for it.June 9, 2014 at 23:00 #481850Not at all hurt SeaSparrow, just goes to show you know and respect a great trainers opinion above others, hope you do keep it up

I think you know all too well the real reason my signature, and that’s not certainly because I respect Moody’s opinion above other true greats. But, again you knew that already especially considering I’ve made it well clear what I thought of your laughable claim that the success of European-imported horses down-under is due to the superior training of aussie trainers rather than the simple fact European horses are miles stronger than your staying lot. And, I believed I’ve already completely dismantled that theory of yours, to which unsurprisingly, except for some puerile attempt at humor, you’ve never managed to reply back to.
Anyway, I know it’s been a long time since you’ve gone on one of your WUM crusades but I suggest you just try to repress that urge son. No need to ruin this thread. I still do not understand what Moody has to do with an Arc topic.

Dismantled my theory, you are talking complete rubbish as usual ‘son’
And you are way out of your league trying to compete with me on horse knowledge ‘sonny’ so go take on one of the juniors big mouth
June 11, 2014 at 04:12 #481950Sometimes one is led to wonder do people have more horse knowledge than manners? And there is no substitute for manners.
June 11, 2014 at 12:58 #481992Unless you have read seabirds comments towards me in the past andy save your uninformed comments mate.I was brought up with manners seabird was brought up thinking he is superior.
June 12, 2014 at 10:07 #482083They seem to be saying that Australia will not run in the Irish Derby if the going is on the soft side. Is it that the horse wont go a yard on soft or are they just protecting him? Either way the time in the season of which the Arc is run would not have me running to back him.

June 12, 2014 at 11:00 #482093Nathan i think i was reading O’ Brien saying he learnt a lot from running Camelot in the Irish Derby when the ground was a bog and it ruined the horse so i presume he’ll being very cautious with his superstars for the foreseeable future.
June 13, 2014 at 09:49 #482180I have backed Taghrooda at a bigger price but even at 16/1 she remains of interest. The Derby might have been a stronger race but visually she was the more impressive of the two Classic winners. You had to like her temperament, enthusiasm and the attitude she showed when asked to go and win the race. It was only her third start and there should be more to come.
Opposition aside, the big question mark if she goes to Paris will again be Hanagan. Such was her superiority in the Oaks it didn’t take a genius ride to steer her home. In all likelihood the Arc will be an entirely different kettle of fish, particularly if she were to get a wide draw. Not even sure Hanagan has much experience of the track, let alone a winning chance in a race of this magnitude. It will be interesting to see if the Sheikh tries to tee him up with a few practice runs.

Haha, now you’re playing the victim for getting picked on despite spending most of your time on this forum pissing people off. A wind-up merchant feeling victimized, you just couldn’t make it up. And, in case you didn’t realise, you merely saying you have superior "horse knowledge" to everyone else here does not make it so. I made a logical argument to which you never constructively replied. Maybe when you do put up a structured argument (I can dig up the thread if you want), we will all bow down to your "superior knowledge". But, till then, don’t be surprised if what you come across like is a mere WUM. Put up or shut up!

Well, so much for that. We Are’s been scratched, but we should still get a good idea of Shamkala’s credentials today. 1000 Guineas winner, Miss France is opposing and should provide a good yardstick. Avenir Certain and Bawina are also very good animals.

They finished in a heap in the French Oaks today and I doubt even the pessimistic John Gosden would fear taking on any of today’s fillies with Taghrooda.
Seeing Miss France today it makes me think again as to how Taghrooda would have performed had she taken her chance at Newmarket in the 1000G. Of course it is a good bit shorter than the Oaks but class can go a long way sometimes and runaway Oaks winner Oh So Sharp was a narrow 1000G winner in her year.
I don’t think this year’s edition was vintage by any manner, with several promising absentees and poor performances from the O’Brien fillies and one time hot favourite Rizeena.
One thing is absolutely certain and that is the ridiculous quote of 10/1 Shamkala for the Arc with Sporting Bet as we speak. And Jesus wept

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
June 18, 2014 at 10:18 #482831Backed Sea The Moon at 150s and 85s on Betfair after win on Sunday, looks German Derby bound before Prix Neil and Arc.
