Gigginstown have a powerful string of novice hurdlers, with Tell Us More the pick of them for me, but that horse looks likelier for the Neptune. No More Heroes looks to be heading for this race and I’ve taken 8/1 after today’s victory over Shaneshill at Navan. This is probably the best novice hurdle form on offer so far, this side of the water at any rate, and with further improvement expected when stepped up in trip he looks a superb prospect.
December 14, 2014 at 17:15 #498482Tommy i am on BLACK HERCAULES 10S for this race how you rate him.
December 14, 2014 at 21:00 #498510That Elliot horse looks an absolute monster!

I like Black Hercules Darren, he’s a straightforward horse who ran a cracker in the bumper last year. His jumping was good last time out, but I just feel that No More Heroes is possibly the better animal.
December 16, 2014 at 12:23 #498660It certainly was impressive from No More Heroes. I had Milsean of Gigginstown down for this, but I might hold my water a little to see what the vibes are. These owners due particularly well in this race.
January 14, 2015 at 14:57 #501488I read that Tea For Two is likely to run in The Albert Bartlett if he turns up at Cheltenham.
The following was on The Road To Cheltenham column:-
The Festival has not been a given for horses trained there in the past, but the Albert Bartlett sounds like the plan for Tea For Two, whom Kelly believes will be better suited by the New Course than the relative speed test of the Old Course. He certainly stays 2m5f thoroughly.
He is available at 20/1 for the race, which seems big if we compare him to Blaklion, who is generally half the odds yet rated 8lbs behind the Lanzarote winner.
I’ll have a go:-
Albert Bartlett Tea For Two 20/1
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
January 14, 2015 at 15:36 #501489Lizzie Kelly wont be able to claim the 7lb, however he is an intriguing prospect. I’d have thought they may be looking at the Coral Cup as he’d have a nice weight after being upped in the handicap after blowing the Lanzarote field out of the water. Cruised round in front so speed shouldn’t be an issue.

The team have said they think it would make sense to stick to novice company at Cheltenham. I just feel 20/1 is too big for a horse who seems on the up.

January 14, 2015 at 16:25 #501495Was on Tea for Two at the weekend and he murdered them.
It has to be mentioned, he has been put in his place in graded company, albeit he is certainly an improver.
The 7lb claim helped too for sure.
He has probably smashed his Handicap mark by winning so well so surely it will be the AB.
I will be avoiding in graded races on good ground. The Lanzarote felt like his race.

I’d have thought he may still get a racing weight. After all, the Lanzarote is not the Coral cup and he was at the bottom of the handicap there running off 134, I wouldn’t have though they’d raise him over a stone so would be around the 11st mark on a typical running and rider able to claim.
I think also, with respect to the Williams team, their Festival record is dreadful.
January 14, 2015 at 17:03 #501499Sugar Barron 33/1
I have backed today the Henderson horse Sugar Barron who ran today. One might say this field was moderate, but i think it was decent enough and the run a test with the frontrunner. Watching the horses prerace they all were decent and he slashed them, i was thinking beforehand seing him this will be even better over more distance and found out hes entered in the Albert Bartlett possibly, might be a good price to get now hes really good if there is a bit of juice in ground. Tea for Tea is raised to high with all respect this was its day the trainer thinks the same, the low weight played a huge role and hes was trained only for that race, i even think the likes of Dell Arca would be close to him if both are weighted similar and both are prepped for the day.
January 14, 2015 at 17:33 #501504I’d expect him to go up a hefty amount. He murdered them. It was one of the easiest wins I’ve seen in a big handicap for a long long time. But it was on soft and he had a light weight and looked well in. Handicapper won’t care about those facts though.
If he does go in for a big handicap at a nice weight I’d be interested but also sceptical, he’d be fancied and I thought that race Saturday was weak in all.
January 14, 2015 at 19:17 #501506A possible Albert Bartlett horse runs at Thurles tomorrow in the shape of Milsean. His only defeat came when going down by just over two lengths to No More Heroes, who he was giving five pounds. I think this horse is a top class prospect but not sure he’s a Cheltenham horse. He’s a giant of a thing and they may want to keep him to testing conditions. Going to be an exciting novice chaser next season.
January 14, 2015 at 20:31 #501518Tea For Two went up 19 lbs for his win and is now on 153. That’s why I backed him for this race.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
January 14, 2015 at 23:25 #501532I didn’t write the above?

Big day for this fellow tomorrow. He faces a very strong field of staying novices over 2m 4f at Leopardstown, where he has to give weight to Windsor Park, Killultagh Vic, Outlander among others and races off levels with the tough Martello Tower. The form of his run with Shaneshill is still the best novice hurdle form around and he’ll hopefully take this en route to a step up in trip at Cheltenham. This is the type of horse you’d love to own imo, a star of the future.
January 25, 2015 at 10:02 #502847I hope, hope, hope NMH goes in today. Been attacking him all Christmas.
On the brit side of things, I have exposed myself too much on Fletchers Flyer. Anyone know much about stable plans. Fry has two around the 16-1 mark. I was concerned as he drifted to around 25 for a short while. He has now 20s on the exchanges.
He has hung left yet he ran a solid ts figure lately, has a pointing background which i love for this race and he looks a huge stayer. Hoping he comes out in a trial and runs an even better TS figure. I like to punt on horses who show progressive RPR and TS figures going p each race. I want to see a better time from NMH, yet to break 100 TS.
