Wow the newone was mightily impressive
Neptune boundJust watched it now GDC…………Yes he was rather! Only makes the ‘Neptune’ all the more exciting though eh?
January 12, 2013 at 17:34 #426101Yes I love jan and feb as the racing is always excellent and geared towards the festival

Twisters introduced a very nice one Pure Science for MrMould today at warwick, could make em all go if he turns up but may be saved for aintree.
What did you think of Rocky Creek? Nicholls loves this horse and he looks made for the 4 miler but is also RSA entered.

I thought the exact same about him regarding the National Hunt Chase, but GC and co all seem to think he’s RSA bound, not a race I could have him for at all. I think in time he might make a potentially decent National type given his undoubted stamina and slick jumping. In my mind though he’d definitely want more than the 3 miles at the festival.

January 13, 2013 at 17:16 #426190TAPK, Skybet Chase in two weeks, can your old favourite Calgary Bay retain his crown? 20/1 currently looks big to me even if he’s handicapped to the hilt this season.

Rich you know he’s very ground dependant but granted ground the same as last year (Goodish)……….He’s a Certainty,a 20/1 certainty mate! That performance last year was the ride of the year and Mick has played a blinder getting him back down from what seemed like an impossible positon a couple of months ago in order to run at Town Moor,I know Hen thought he’d got No chance of running but like I say on decent ground he’ll be there! Watch last years race and you’ll see why automatic Top weight wont stop him in this years renewal.Hen said after the race had she not trained him with the National in mind he would have run in the Gold cup……..I of course had already backed him for the ‘Festival Chase’!!
January 13, 2013 at 17:37 #426197Yes, Elsworth deserved much more credit for the way he got the big fellow jumping in a great rhythm and slowly creeping them into contention. I would expect something like good to soft ground come the 26th as its meant to stay dry albeit very cold for the next couple of weeks, so may not inconvenience him too much.
Of the rest, I respect Champion Court but think the KG took a lot out of him, but I’ve always maintained that Riguez Dancer has a big prize in him and if Ferdy can get him primed i think the 50/1 on offer is huge!

Everytime I look it just confirms that ‘Harry Topper’ could be a decent animal.Hindsight is a wonderful thing but on collateral form I certainly thought ‘Rocky’ should have been fav on Saturday GDC.No chance in an RSA but like you say the 4 miler wont stop him.

Yes Darren I’m thinking shall I go and get a picture of
My Tent or Yours
running away with it!
5/1 on the machine sounds so much better than 4/1 on the High St too for some strange reason as I know there’s only a point between them……..January 14, 2013 at 13:32 #426266Pearl swan will go well if he turns up mate.
January 14, 2013 at 18:38 #426300Gord do you bet on other sports i know you talk a bit on the golf you do.Had my 1st golf winner of year with Oosthuizien winning at weekend. If you do i think KAYMER got a chance of winning this week. he be one of my main bets this week in european tour.He likes playing in Dubai and events near there.

Darren,in my 30yrs of gambling I’ve bet on everything going at some point,I look back to being what I can only describe now as an Addict when I was 18yr old, somehow or other I have stood the test of time but I can assure you I have seen many fail and fail massively so for me its Horseracing only these days…………Having said that I have backed Spain to win every Euro/World Cup since 1982,they have always been my fav football team as their unique style of trying to walk the ball into the back of the net proves!!
Nick Faldo won me some good bets back in his day and my team Arsenal the same in the FA Cup,if I’m not working these days I supplement my income by Laying horses to lose generally to make between £50-£100 a day,its dead easy as I only have to Lay the horse I fancied winning!!
Gambling is either something you can do or you cant simple as that! I’ve travelled to Hong Kong to back a bloody horse and I’ve been to Las Vegas just to play cards,I’ve been to Monte-Carlo to play Roulette and I’ve been to Amsterdam to er see Ann Frankel. Some folk just cant sit and watch Coronation st with a Hot Chocolate, unfortunately I’m one of them!!January 14, 2013 at 19:47 #426307Gord: love that reply

I have just heard some rather bad news re my Jetski, going straight to the festival without a prep run means he has a massive negative trend to overcome so I racing more in hope of a run and place now

The plus side means MTOY looks to have the perfect profile so I have gone in again at 12s mate
January 14, 2013 at 19:59 #426309TAPK i’m just wondering if you’ve any opinion on where Carlito Brigante will run at the festival, the better the ground gets the better he’ll get and Gordon’s told me the horse will be best over fences over a trip(this is going back about 2 years)so i’d be shocked if he runs him in anything shorter than 3 mile, will they chance the RSA or is the Kim Muir a likely target or is there any other handicap chase i’m forgetting
?January 14, 2013 at 20:15 #426312GDC,I used to worry about getting a run in around mid February before my Cheltenham horses turn up for the festival,it doesn’t bother me in the slightest these days as I know horses can be brought to Peak fitness at home, obviously the likes of Jon-Jo and Nicky Henderson along with Team Pipe have the facilities to do it.I dont know how Jessie Harrington will prepare ‘your’
Jezki
but as I’ve said before there’s no doubt he showed the difference between a proper Grade 1 horse and those who are not the way he left them like only a Grade 1 horse can! I’m obviously wrong in saying he’s ‘Nothin special’ but I wouldn’t swap a home trained Mcmanus ‘Supreme’ horse for him! Game on there mate!

?Fran I too am a big fan of
Carlito brigante
,he did me a good turn in the Coral cup 2 years ago,my concern with him though is he has a slightly unusual way of getting over his obstacles,he’s very rounded at hurdling but he seems to get in low too over fences, however If I was targeting a race for him at the festival it would be the ‘Festival Chase’ over 3m on the first day simply because he is a very well handicapped chaser now and will definately get in with around 10-10lb and thats perfect…….Gordon Elliot is a very ‘targetable’ Trainer,I know this through ‘Backstage’!
