Each to their own but i don’t think Snow Leopardess will be good enough. Okay she’s won over the fences but i don’t think she’s beaten anyone and you need that bit of class these days. For what it’s worth i’ve backed Run Wild Fred since last April so just hope that Gigginstown let him take his chance.

My unoriginal shortlist is Fiddlerontheroof, Escaria Ten and Longhouse Poet.

Any Second Now’s chance is obvious but he is short enough and I just wonder if last year was his chance.

Like many racegoers, I really like Snow Leopardess but she is much too short now. She is admirably game and a good jumper but there must be something in the race with too much class for her. And she was not exactly motoring home at the end of the Becher.

I think a case can be made that Snow Leopardess has improved, despite her age. She has improved exponentially as a jumper and just keeps galloping.

Every race this season and last season bar perhaps Aintree and Cheltenham she just keeps on going through the line, not giving any impression that she has had enough. She had every right to be slowing down in the Becher, but her stride didn’t appear to be shortening, so I’m not convinced that she can’t stay. An extra mile on better ground, even if it’s just soft in places should suit perfectly.

I also wouldn’t write off the form of her runs this season. For all the Becher hasn’t worked out incredibly; her reappearance win at Bangor has worked out remarkably. The Sky Bet, Last Fling Chase, and Classic Chase winners were behind her that day as well as a couple other winners. The Eclair Surf form especially is looking very well.

If Aiden Coleman can keep her handy and give her plenty of daylight, I can’t see her not being involved turning for home. Even if he as at work on her; we know she will just keep on galloping. I think she has a fabulous chance. But then, I’m a little bit biased.

I just wasn’t expecting her to be vying for favouritism

I’ve backed Snow Leopardess, her profile coming into this reminds me a bit of Walk On The Mill the year he won the Becher on soft and ran in the National on quicker ground. Ran really well, making the frame, but the ‘quicker horses’ got away from him the end. Wouldn’t surprise me if Snow Leopardess’s race is similar.

Ginger Britain’s best choice ….I’d say Fiddlerontheroof is that , as I said she,s a game mare but she has to improve even more to win , she,s been very well placed but even her Becher form where she was all out to beat Hill sixteen isn’t going to good enough

If last years issue was breathing rather than staying, Cloth Cap will take some beating. I’ll certainly be backing him, risking that assumption is accurate.

They want good ground for Cloth Cap; connections have made no secret of that. If it’s soft i expect CC not to run.

What’s the cut off date/time for any of those currently in reserve to get a last minute entry? I’ve still got fingers crossed for Fortescue.

I’ve added De Rasher Counter e/w at 40s (1st 6 places) this afternoon.
My actual bets are mounting; i expect to be on 25% of the field by the off

Have they said that Wilts? Surely they would run on ‘Good to Soft’. No way will Aintree let it go off any better than that.

They havent explicitly said but if is soft i just feel they were hinting to not run. Good to soft prob ok.
Maybe my interpretation is incorrect. I have backed CC a couple of weeks ago for the race.

    Latest from Aintree, this eve:

The opening day of Aintree’s Grand National meeting looks set to be run on quick ground and the National course will be watered after less-than-expected rainfall at the Merseyside track overnight on Tuesday was followed by a dry and windy day.
Clerk of the course: “We have taken the decision to water just the Grand National course today and we will put down 4-5mm of irrigation

Cloth Cap is certainly well handicapped on his best form, but he was beaten 25 lengths off just 3lb higher last time out, so he wouldn’t be for me.

Two For Gold is a handicap snip based on latest Ascot form, and though the trip is a concern I’ve taken a big price about him.

I’m also on Fiddlerontheroof, who ran a stormer in the Ladbrokes Trophy, but tbh I expected him to win at Ascot and he didn’t.

I’ve had to have a saver on Snow Leopardess, I’m also on Caribean Boy, but he ran a shocker last time out and Burrows Saint completes my current five against the field.

All win only because each-way betting is for those lacking moral fibre.

Thats the ticket Sir Ian of Davies.

“Cloth Cap is certainly well handicapped on his best form, but he was beaten 25 lengths off just 3lb higher last time out, so he wouldn’t be for me.”

As the great man Leng would say, a “lovely float up”.

If it was a float up, and it’s going to bounce back to its very best, it wins six lengths – it might yet be my sixth bet in the race!
