Surprised to see Sizing John double in price today but not complaining as I’ll gladly take some 8/1…
Questions over the yard form and coming back out just 18 days after a seasonal reappearance are good enough reasons to suggest you could put a line through today…Lexus never the most straightforward race formwise…
Might Bite still has a bit to prove for me and the 3rd favourite before today, Yorkhill will surely now not go the GC route?
Sizing John has proved it in March at Cheltenham…better ground and the right prep and I’m sure he’s still the one to beat!
December 28, 2017 at 23:11 #1334610The niggle now is the setback and whether he’ll be the same.
Recent GC winners I think had a trouble free season health wise.December 31, 2017 at 09:12 #1335136Surprised to see Sizing John double in price today but not complaining as I’ll gladly take some 8/1…
I think you are spot on. Other than a few quid on horses at huge prices I haven’t really had a proper bet but have had to smash in to the 8/1.
December 31, 2017 at 13:07 #1335166Added in bachasson at 220s
Out tomorrow against a decent field, hopefully runs well
December 31, 2017 at 14:17 #1335171Yep fully agree guys.
If you can put a line through last run which I’m fully happy to do then he would still be fav for this.Clearly wasn’t his running last time, he’s had a tough campaign more than happy to forgive that run.
Very good chance he comes back to his best for Cheltenham and if he is at his best he will be very tough to beat.
8/1 is a stealDecember 31, 2017 at 19:33 #1335190My first bet is Blaklion at 40’s ew. I don’t know if it’s heart ruling the head, as I am a big fan anyway, but I do think he’s up to it.
December 31, 2017 at 19:52 #1335193That’s a good price I think
I believe Thistlecrack is capable of running a big one in March. His last two runs have been encouraging and I think he will improve again if he stays injury free.
December 31, 2017 at 22:41 #1335210I agree about Thistlecrack MOM. He seems to be improving with each run as he regains his fitness. That said it sounded like De Boinville thought Might Bite still had some untapped reserves. I managed to get 10-1 on Might Bite some months back so I’m sticking with him but I would see the main dangers as Thistlecrack, Sizing John and Native River.
January 1, 2018 at 14:29 #1335274May need softer ground, but impressed enough by that
January 1, 2018 at 15:02 #1335282Bachason i believe is probably the most likely Mullins horse to win the gold cup this year. He won’t however.
January 1, 2018 at 15:23 #1335285Will be a big ask, but @220s was worth the risk he would put himself in the picture,
Anything could win it at this point, wouldnt dismiss most at this moment
January 8, 2018 at 14:10 #1336441Thistlecrack out for the season with a small stress fracture.
January 8, 2018 at 15:57 #1336471Really sad news, just when the Tizzards got Thistlecrack back within sight of his best.
Value Is EverythingJanuary 8, 2018 at 22:52 #1336550Very sad indeed.
I would have backed him again each way but with his injury record, before going in again, I chose to wait until nearer the time. Glad I did. A terrible blow for the Tizzards on what is proving a tough season for him so far.
As a side note, Blaklion at 40/1 each Way is a great price isn’t it? William Hill offering that price at the moment.
January 10, 2018 at 20:26 #1336803Will Blaklion go for this when he’s Grand National favourite?
Value Is EverythingJanuary 10, 2018 at 20:59 #1336808I’m hopeful he’d go for this before the national but of course that’s not a definite
January 10, 2018 at 21:01 #1336809Looking unlikely Yorkhill will take part.
I’ve gone in for Minella Rocco, very good record (runs) at the festival and has shown good-ish form this season despite him being more of a spring horse.Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
