Il post you some tissues then Ian to mop up your tears when he starts treading water at the furlong pole
He has looked to have loads of speed
March 22, 2023 at 17:52 #1640983You’re all heart, FF.
You see, Gladders referred to his historical confidence in this trio: “El Gran Senor. Zafonic. Frankel.”
But they all won over 7f – or even a mile – at two.
And none was by a sire who gets speedy 2yos built like brick outhouses that don’t grow a millimetre from two to three.
I really hope “The Bear” does it, I’ve got 14s, but I don’t quite share Gladders’s admirable sense of certainty.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"March 22, 2023 at 18:14 #1640990Wonder when the last time a horse won the guineas having not run over at least 7f was?
Can’t imagine it happens often
March 22, 2023 at 18:19 #1640991“But they all won over 7f – or even a mile – at two.”
Little Big Bear may well have done as well but he got injured so a bit unfair to beat a stick his way for not running further than 6f at two.
March 22, 2023 at 18:23 #1640993I hope your sentiments are vindicated, Michael – as previously stated, I’ve got 14/1!
“Wonder when the last time a horse won the guineas having not run over at least 7f once?”
Really good question, FF, unfortunately I can’t remember and am too lazy to research the answer!

March 22, 2023 at 18:30 #1640995I don’t think Known Fact, awarded the 1980 2,000 Guineas on the disqualification of Nureyev, ran over further than 6f at two?

He’d have to be really special to be that good over 6f and win a guineas. I’d love to see it
I have to agree with FF91 on the scepticism of his chances though. No Nay Never is the producer of good sprinters not milers.
The best he ever had was Blackbeard
He could be more an Air Force Blue than a Henrythenavigator regard the trip
Usually one of Aidan’s gets smashed off the boards around this time of year
I’m hoping the money comes for LBB. I’d like to see him around the 1/1 mark for the win.
I’d be place laying him as if Moore knows hes beat early enough he may go easy on him with thoughts of dropping back in trip and not giving him a hard raceGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
March 23, 2023 at 06:13 #1641023I have put a few shillings to win on, Nostrum and Silver Knott.
Also a few shillings on Slipofthepen. Has has only won a Kempton Maiden, maybe he’ll get entered at the Craven meeting and run in the Guineas or maybe not ?
March 23, 2023 at 13:08 #1641036Noble style to run against chaldean in the greenham
The way he runs will map out whether he goes to the guineas or hopefully for me he is outstayed and drops back to 6f for the commonwealth cup
March 25, 2023 at 23:56 #1641485“Derby favourite Auguste Rodin and Little Big Bear pleased Aidan O’Brien as the Ballydoyle trainer took a strong team of horses to gallop after racing at the Curragh on Saturday.”
Interestingly or maybe not was that Heffernan rode Little Big Bear in this work
I can see a flip flop of favouritism on the horizonGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
March 26, 2023 at 08:56 #164150117/2 Chaldean
35/1 EpictetusI will be watching Chaldean the Greenham with interest.
No idea if Epictetus is going to run here. Maybe more of a Derby horse.
Agree with FF and Nathan about Little Big Bear. He looks all about speed and his setback ruling him out of much of last season puts me off as well.
He might be worth a bet in the Commonwealth Cup.
March 26, 2023 at 09:07 #1641503Any winning bets on Chaldean should be voided if the ticket holder cannot pronounce the horse’s name correctly.
March 26, 2023 at 09:30 #1641508The Dean of Chal has spoken – yet again!
And he says I can be boring and repetitive!
I want Gladders on ITV Racing on 2,000 Guineas Day to demonstrate how it’s pronounced.
For the duration of THAT segment, I would unmute!

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"March 26, 2023 at 10:05 #1641513I’ve just run a search, and discovered that the above is my third post regarding the mispronunciation of Chaldean.
There are 1,121 results for the word Chezza.
Hardly comparable.
March 26, 2023 at 10:10 #1641514It’s a testimony to the manifest fact that your every posting – at a conservative estimate, what’s more! – has at least 500 times the impact, Gladders!
Anyway, Little Big Bear would be the first 2,000 Guineas winner I ever backed who had never hitherto raced beyond 6f, but first time for everything, so here’s hoping!

Not that it means anything, but the way he picked up and finished strongly was most encouraging.
