If he runs flat like he did in the gold cup then he is beatable. Very possibly over the top now and needs a rest. I hope he wins and wins nicely but I wouldnt want to bank on it.
Kauto Star may have now turned into the Roger Federer of the equine world. We all know he is the best but he keeps getting beat by rivals with less ability for no obvious reason.
Cav,
In 2008, that holiday camp is more likely to be occupied by Polish vegetable pickers who think a Lucky 15 refers to the group sharing the least crowded caravan.
AP
They didn’t mention that when I was booking my 2 weeks in August. Hope the Lucky 15 are female.

They arent exactly female, although they do weigh 8 stone and wear tights so you wont notice the difference.
What were you doing in the jockeys changing room Fist?
Did you used to be the on course drug dealer

Racing is full of absolute idiots. Horribkle stuck up self important fools. From the punters to the press to the trainers and to the owners. Full of complete and utter pratts (obviously will be a few nice people in racing who somehow slipped through the radar) but the majority of them are the horrible people.
I have decided I dislike racing people and dislike the UK in general. I am going to NZ to live.
Unfortunately though it seems nowadays that too many people take offence at the pettiest little things, and anyone who is prepared to say what they feel and possibly upset someone else in the process is looked on as a bad person.
I was so offended by Big Macs disrespect towards women in Big Brother that I now will only eat in Burger King when I go out for a meal. I have ever since always shunned the golden arches and would even choose Wimpy over a Big Mac.
Thats a bit cheeky Fist comparing me to a fat sexist mannerless idiot.
I think im one of the very few users of the forum who doesnt take themselves to seriously. Some of the forumites need to chill out and relax a bit, some of the forumites need to fight the urge to make up pretend bets that they had (always at the best prices).

Only kidding guys, your a lovely bunch and there is not an ego in sight.

your right flash.zoso is strange i would say more like fiction
Strangeness is in the eye of beholder, what is strange to one is normal to another.
I am able to bring serious analysis to the table and I am able to bring ridiculous comments laced with sarcasm to the table lavishly dressed up to provoke reaction.
The way I see things is the strange ones are the ones who dress up in brogues, cashmere jackets and those dodgy brown suits with the stupid hats and bang on about notebooks and other such rubbish.
I have never spoke about any notebook and I would never dream of wearing the ghastly race goer uniform that so many in racing need to wear in order to make themselves fit in to there surrounding. The Lincoln- One of the most dull and dreary races known to mankind. Just stick a pin in the paper if you really need to bet in this droll race. Hopefully the country will have a powercut to save the public from listening to dreary presenters banging on and on about a draw before the dreariest of dreary races.
Zoso I can never quite make out whether you are being serious or not?
Thats the way I like it Gordon.

Big Mac should think himself lucky he still has any hours, he should be grateful for reduced hours as that has to be better than no hours.
He is a pantomime character and not very likable. He is a spoilt brat (as proved on Celebrity Big Brother), he is sexist and degrading to women and is a stuck up pratt with the style of a slug.
Sack Big Mac "Stuck up sexist dinosaur"
Sack Tanya "lacking in both personality and confidence"
Sack Jim Mcgrath "Pompous pratt who brings nothing to the table"
Sack Leslie Graham "Brings nothing to the table, has an arrogant self confidence and appears clueless about everything, stuck up also"Keep Derek "The King" Thompson – Genius presenter, anchor man, always makes you smile , very knowledgable and a likable man.
Keep John Francombe – He was a champion jockey and brings the jockey angle to the table. Worth keeping.
Keep Ted Walsh – Not a regular but always worth listening to his opinions.
Keep Alice Plunkett – She is a bit dizzy but she at least comes across as being nice and has a nice bum.
Keep Richard Hoiles – Always worth listening to and manages to give an informed opinion without a shred of arrogance about him. Likable and professional.Bring in one new player – ie myself and you have a great racing show. How could I possibly be wrong?
Katchit is the real champion hurdler, he won the champion hurdle wih a gutsy performance and holds the crown. An exceptional feat for a 5yo.
Sizing Europe had a nerve problem
Sizing Europe returned lame in his back legs
Sizing Europe now has a back problemThe above are three of the excuses I have heard about for this horse.
How about he simply wasnt good enough on the day under the conditions.Katchit is the champ and that is that. A bunny hopping horse was never going to win the Champion hurdle and Sizing Europe is not a horse I would ever like to size with. Just because he bunny hops hurdles does not mean that he will make a good chaser. Perhaps Sizing Europe will never win a race of note over fences or hurdles. The AIG he won was ridiculously weak and the horse is hyped up. Sometimes the hype becomes reality but the majority of times the hype remains just that.
He may well go onto make a good chaser and he may well win next years Champion Hurdle. Until he proves he is good enough for either he remains nothing more than a hyped up sack of chips that the connections feel the need to make excuses for.It was the worst festival in living memory.
I lost money and I dont enjoy losing money wether it be at Southwell (aw) or Cheltenham festival. Horrible 3 days of racing.
I dislike all these extra races and they really should go back to the 3 day festival and get rid of these ridiculous mares races and the dull handicaps where the winner comes from whichever trainer has managed to defraud the punters the best that year by hiding the true merits of his horse. The festival did not get me excited this year as in years gone by and I genuinely thought it was crap. Obviously winning may have changed my outlook but the fact is I thought it was a crap festival.
I know what you are thinking, it is unlike me to go against the opinion of the majority but there you go.
The dullest gold cup I have ever seen. After 3 fences you could see Kauto Star wasnt 100% and a race never even took place. One of the dullest races in living memory, I can honestly never remember such a dull non event. I have seen sprints at Southwell (AW) with more drama. Hats off to Denman for doing what he had to do but if ever you wanted a race to put new punters off the sport then this dull affair was just the ticket.
Champion Hurdle – Briefly exciting as Sublimity cruised into contention looking like the winner only for Katchit to go and win and submit us all to 12 months of racing cliques such as "Heart of a Lion" blah blah blah blah.
Master Minded was the one performance that I enjoyed. As for the rest of those dull handicaps they may as well end them all now.
Lets hope the festival is better next year. I have found Dubai carnivals more fun than the dross we were treated to this year.
You will today witness two apparent good things get beaten due to age.
Inglis Drever will be beaten due to being too old. Baracouda was a bigger certainty and he was turned over as a 9yo in this race. The same fate awaits Inglis. Stable form is fine and is no excuse for the champs defeat.
Master Minded is too young and the best any followers of him can hope for is for the horse to survive the festivals fastest chase and walk away with his life and come back next year.
Blazing Bailey has been getting the experience for a while now and can finally come of age and reverse form with Inglis Drever and start his own dominant period of the World Hurdle. Today we will see Inglis Drever come off the bridle a long way from home however the difference today will be that he doesnt come back on the bridle at any point. Blazing Bailey will trounce this field today. You have my word.
Maybe my mates little sister is lying, I dont really know her so lets not rule anything out at this stage.
I have just been speakking to a mate and his little sister is working in one of the bars at the festival this week.
Apparently the coach arrived on site this morning with the staff and she said they werent allowed to get off the coach as it was so dangerous. She said a marquee and metal pole was flying through the air.Now when you have metal poles flying wildly through the air and they wont even let you get off the coach then it should become clear to the knockers that the correct decision was made. Nothing namby pamby UK nanny state about it.
I had a nice free bet so have no complaints. Backed at 4.7 and layed at 1.8. Gave a great run.
Kames Park didnt run anywhere near his OR as expected.
If Kames Park runs to the form of 3 of his last 4 races then he should be the outsider of the field, dont take his OR at face value.
The only time Kames Park raced in a claimer he finished in last place.
Will be shocked if Kames Park can win this race here and he is clearly a better horse at Lingfield.Taking the above into account then Salute should be an odds on favourite for this race, he stands out on OR (ignoring Kames Park) won last time and we are told he is in form. I have jumped on board and he looks to9 have an outstanding chance.
