Something in Paris Turf ( En Bref) today about Wolverhampton running races every 22minutes and if my translation is correct Kempton hosting 14 races for their inaugural nocturne.
Looks like the above are just race times after the hour, on reflection – Doh !
British Horseracing is definitely going to the dogs :(

Has Sue Montgomery been on the sauce or is she just oh so droll ?
"And if the gulls who are suspected of causing the delay to the launch by transferring the pebbles from the infield to the track return, it may be a case of the management leaving no tern unstoned."

The AWful future of British Horseracing ! If I had a decent string of animals for training, I’d pack them off to Normandy.

I remain unconvinced that there is a any kind of market for a sports betting daily and even more unconvinced that there is an appetite for one called the Sportsman – Punter Daily perhaps  As mad as March Hares, methinks !
What do the TV Adverts look like on the website ? Can’t download them. Are they like something out of The Sweeney ?
http://www.thesportsman.co.uk/
Anyone do the Jackpot yesterday? Looks like Sue Montgomery did and was glued to the TV for each race. Did the Tote do enough to publicise it ?

Plenty in today’s papers for those who prefer the proceeding analysis to the preceeding hype of Cheltenham.
Alan Lee delivers an entertainig two page diary of his Festive experience. Disagree with him on his criticism of the post-race jockey interviews. Anthing that brings the racecourse home to the armchair has to be a good thing.
Jim McGrath also reviews Cheltenham in the Telegraph. In agreement with his support of the four-day week. Anything that makes things easier for those wishing to attend the first couple of days, not least acquiring tickets, gets my vote
Festival facilities need update
Reference in today’s Paris Turf to the proposed All Weather fixture at Musselburgh is deeply depressing. However good the surface is at Lingfield, for me it’s a glorified dog-track with positioning on the turn all-important.
Quelle Surprise ! Hope hibernation went sans probleme, LL. ;) The Arc seems a liftetime ago. What Longchamp meeting do you recommend this Spring? When are the big trials and 1.000/2,000 guineas meeting on? Chantilly is great but it’s too damn hot over there in June!

After reading Lydia’s thorough reply to Andyman on Iris’s Gift, I look forward to reading her take on the Cheltenham horse fatalities so soon after the Newbury deaths.

Betfair are reported to be unhappy at not getting credit from C4 for Exchange info. Perhaps Betfair should be just grateful for the amount of publicity the exchange market gets from the broadcaster.
Given that the Tote are keeping this show on the road I don’t believe C4 are doing enough for Tote Customers in the way of race number info, Tote market prices and Tote SP results. The Tote afterall will attract more new people to racing and betting than the traditional bookmakers and the exchanges.
