I have the CH between the two now after today, cannot see anything beating Osana or Sizing,Slight preference is for Osana,on the greatwood form and bear in mind David Pipes horses were massively out of form at that time, and at roughly twice the price of Sizing if the race were run tomorrow I’d be playing on Osana.I’m prepared to throw out Sublimity, and it may be folly of me to do this, but if he goes to the CH on the back of his 4th in the Bula-this stat alone puts me off, with most winners in the past 20yrs having won their last run..
You’ll get to see how your antepost bets stands on Sunday with a bit of luck..
Arcalis is topweight in the Greatwood hurdle, ground should be in his favour,
there are some decent animals in,but you’d be suprised if he didn’t go close.
JH Johnson horses are in great form,Arcalis hosed home last year on his first run and as trend followers may know having topweight or a big weight in the greatwood wouldn’t put you off, they have a great record..
Don’t think he’ll win come March, but if he goes close this Sunday,he will be half those odds and he would be a great trade…
Good Luck
Surely its all relative,a large bet to one person may be a small bet to another..
Personally I don’t understand people that play minimum £2 stake on betfair, and personally see that is more of a compulsive bettor.
If your gonna bet,bet decent, but decent to me may be small to others..
I know a man that insists the only way to bet is to go bigger on your better price selections, and I understand the methodology in this,as when you eventually hit that big price winner it is happy days.
Personally I play level stakes, and find this works quite well, but I have found in the past having a betting bank lethal(for me anyway),because if the money was there I would bet(for the sake of it),luckily I had success doing this, but soon realised I could end up on s**t
street,so I went back to betting from funds from my current account,I find this much better, and play when I’ve got plenty of money, and take a watching brief when funds are that bit tighter.
I know it’s not to everyone taste, but it works for me and my records from 8years of betting show I’m in a very healthy profit.I’ll be looking to lay My Way De Solzen when he tackles fences,he will go off far too short,as he’s the reigning staying hurdler and he didn’t enjoy fences when tried in the past.(french form)
It may be different now of course, but at short odds esp.first time out(over fences),I’ll be laying:biggrin:
I was very impressed by yesterdays victory, true to some extent you can ask what did he beat, but if that is the question, how on earth was he allowed to go off at evs…surely the bet of the season(I doubt there will be better evs money shots throughout the rest of it)..
Needless to say I bought into the Nicholls mind games,if he overhyped him last year,he has done the exact opposite this year, saying he’ll come on for the run,we may just give him more runs this season etc,so I didn’t have a peeny on him..
I have to agree with Grassy’s earlier statement,3miles should hold no problems for him and as mentioned he had winning form in france over 2m 4f,and he will have got stronger since his 4y/o days..
I would be very wary of opposing him next time out,he could go off very short, but if he is any kind of price(subject to race),I would rather back than lay after yesterdays performance
I am going to York on Saturday, and having looked at the race and really wanting to oppose Sixties Icon,I can’t find any reason why I will..
Red Rocks ran solid enough last time, and as someone has mentioned,he did indeed finish in front of Icon at Goodwood, but Icon, even at the price looks most progressive,he looks like he will enjoy the step up in trip, whereas others near the head of the market aren’t sure to appriciate any step up..
Frankie has opted for him, when one presumes he could have ridden Red Rocks(as he has in his last few races)
For the winner I can’t see past Icon,I’m not saying I think he’s value, but I wouldn’t want to lay him for too much(but what do I know,I’m a jumps man normally,my wife has asked me to take her racing,so off to York we go!!!
Well spotted highflyer!!!,I wonder what gave that away
roblester…robert lester!!!..genius…
anyway, yes good points on the 10 to follow, also like Monets Garden, agree about Zeta’s River could be plot job, although it was poor at Aintree,it may have been over the top by then.
Have to agree with those that said Cheltenham, the course(s) are amazing,if you are lucky enough to attend a race meeting, get to the tatts seating over the winning line(free at most meetings including Paddy Power meeting on Sunday, not Saturday though)and certainly not free for the festival about £70 per day I think..But what breath-taking views.
My first visit ever to Cheltenham was to the festival and we had tatts seats for all 3 days,I was blown away when I first walked up from the Coral bar area.amazing..what a course..
Also have a soft spot for Aintree, great racing, good views, but IMO cannot match the superlative Cheltenham course.
AP rides Iris’s….is there more to this than meets the eye!!
