Would have to agree with TYF – bit of a cheek to call these 3 stand alone events a ‘Relative Bet’.

I backed Ronaldo Golden Boot and Brazil WC winners as a ‘Relative’ double in ’02 – quite acceptable, if Brazil won the WC Ronaldo had 7 matches and had an undisputed mathematical increased chance of being top scorer.

If Don Cossack won at Haydock would that make his chances of winning the KG any greater? No.

Kauto Star was undoubtedly one of the greats, but even he would have probably have failed to win all three if Denman hadn’t been a novice that season.

AIR FORCE BLUE look awesome in Dewhurst looks like he not get beat unless we get soft ground next may which could happen”

Not you as well as O’Brien. Where in the same of jumping Jehovah does this idea come from that Air Force Blue needs top of the ground? Is Obi-wan-ken-AOB performing some sort of Jedi mind trick?

Asoct Good to Firm GROUP 2 – beaten 2L.
    Curragh Good GROUP 1 – wins 2L.
    Curragh Yielding GROUP 1 – wins 3L.
Newmarket Good (Good to Soft in places) GROUP 1 – wins 3.25L.

Champion Stakes. I don’t acknowledge the other race you refer to as existing.

Why are we so desperate to morph in to a poor man’s Breeders Cup when English racing is / was the envy of the world?

The old Champions Day at HQ mullered this Ascot BC-light all day. FFS. :negative:

Careful Fran, you must understand this decision. What a load of balls.

I’m a Surveyor, if I was sacked to make way for a better Surveyor then I’d be fuming but deep down would understand it. But if the fella replacing me would at any point jump ship to their primary client, I would have to seriously question the decision. The initial clients appear to be too smart for their own good, let’s hope it backfires.

Yeah I’m sure he’ll be made up if Moore collects yet another G1 on what was no doubt a special horse for him.

He’s only human, if it was me I’d be hoping he drops his whip and gets nailed a nose. Then again, I am a bitter individual.

I love how a softish southern race is called “a stepping stone”, or a “nice little race”, but any northern equivalent is called an “egg and spoon” race.

    Bloody shandy drinkers.

I agree with LD73 about the Minding quotes. Very odd.

It’s so odd that such an intelligent man keeps repeating this sort of thing time after time.

Fair play to Tabor for the heads up honesty before the race mind you. Wonder how much he had on.

That’s two Group 1 hack-ups on ground on the easy side now for AFB. Let’s hope this means we’ll see the horse now and then next season.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion of course, but I bet there is only one person on planet earth who rates Treve’s 1st Arc a better performance then Frankel’s Queen Ann.

If Coolmore wasn’t called Coolmore nobody would give her a prayer of ever beating the impressive Minding. And she won’t.

Cheers for that marra a good read.

They were calling Saamidd “Pegasus” before that race I remember.

We love a good hyped up 2yo don’t we, I remember Filthy incredulous a few year back that Falbrav was 2nd press billing to some juvy who had a maiden nicely.

Must be intimidated by Emotionless I agree. A 3l G1 winner on Yielding needing top of the ground? Hmm.

Nope not me, I loved Paul Mullrenen’s emotion on winning the Nunny for example and was chuffed to bits for him.

Dettori is just too ‘media savvy’ for my taste, that probably about sums it up.

I wonder if he was rampaging around like an annoying toddler screeching WE WON THE DERBY to Oppenheimer when the camera’s weren’t trained on him.

Aussie flat racing is a lot like our NH racing I’ve always thought, with a Handicap being the season’s highlight. Nothing wrong with it imo.

At least the top Oz horses give it a good go and run against each other, our top stables are increasingly about protecting reputations and stud values. The chicken and the egg riddle comes to mind, are they breeding (for example) Gleneagles to run in races or to breed other horses to run in races, etc etc.
