I appreciate that speaking the obvious is not what those “in the know” do, but if a horse needs to run 2.5-3m to get 100% race fit, why doesn’t the trainer of the horse do so at home before racing under rules?
I fully expect numerous replies from people with low-brimmed hats, typing whilst muttering from the side of their mouths, about me not understanding “the game”.

AP starts his media career in hard-hitting fashion following Founds Lasix-assisted victory, calling trainer and jockey “Genius”.
Controversial stuff.

Sounds bloody awful to me, thanks SC for the details very thorough.
C4’s latest recruit clearly thinks Lasix is a smart product, AP officially describing AOB as a “genius” immediately following Found’s (tainted IMO) victory.

Pershad repeatedly calling Ascots handicap chase “the big race of the day”.
Usual shoddy, disrepectful southern-bias, ignoring the Grade 2 Charlie Hall at Wetherby.

Balding should maintain the banality.
Not sure about McCoy TBF, probably just another ex-jock to back current jocks to the hilt no matter what.
No offence to him, but C4 are lacking something and that certainly isn’t it.

Even a broken clock is right twice per day.
The winner looks high enough. 7lb higher than the RU for 1.5L? Not sure I understand the rationale.

The drink. There, but for the Grace of God, go I.

My tuppence worth –
Many Clouds – Badly treated at the weights, may need further.
Menorah – Has won this before FTO, but is badly weighted.
Sam Winner – Badly treated at the weights.
Hollywell – Badly treated at the weights and has never won FTO in a season.
Ballynagour – Would be interesting but for a shocking record FTO in a season.
Cur Card – plenty to prove, and badly in with Dynaste.
Dynaste – best treated of all at the weights, Grade 1 winner, has won 40% (2/5) of seasonal reappearances during UK career.I found it pretty easy to reach the conclusion to have a good bet on Dynaste, he’ll probably run like a drain.
Good luck all.

Hi Bobby, further to your reply:
Regarding Kris Kin, he is outside my 12 year sample, although I am puzzled as to why he had a rating for running in 2 Maidens whereas North Light for example did exactly the same but did not?
I admit I have taken a flyer, but can you really see the 2nd or 3rd getting a hike for their RPT runs? I had assumed there was no chance of this.

Hmm. Not convinced with that TAPK.
Over the last 12 years, no Derby winner to come out of their juvenile season with an OR have been rated as low as Johannes Vermeer or Foundation.
*NB – These horses did not receive a rating – Ruler of The World didn’t run at 2. Pour Moi had ran in two low level French races, winning the second. Workforce, North Light & Golden Horn had ran in (winning) Maidens only at 2.
Foundation perhaps has extenuating circumstances due to a true horror passage, although his Derby profile as a RPT also-ran looks extremely shaky.
Johannes Vermeer looks pretty much exposed to me, having won a G3 and failed twice at G1 level. Doesn’t scream, or even whisper, ‘Derby’ to me.

I agree with Marginal Value, beautifully put.
Fair play to Victoria for having a go.

Huge Group 1 race, trainer states hot favourite won’t be given a hard race, jockey rides like Stevie Wonder on Ketamine. I seriously doubt anything untoward but it looks positively awful doesn’t it?
‘That’s racing’? Only in England…

That’s a bold, and odd, statement.
The Foundation poser will rumble on all winter now, but I can’t see how you can predict the winner never confirming with the runner up. Beat him easily didn’t he?

If horses aren’t to be given “hard races” in Group 1′ s things are getting a bit out of hand aren’t they?

Oh dear.
