Also, Clare Balding is returning for 2016 after her sabbatical.

AP has a very quick wit, and he’s not a mincer of words. Should be a rare addition to the team, and I’m really looking forward to his comments

    Balding should maintain the banality.

Not sure about McCoy TBF, probably just another ex-jock to back current jocks to the hilt no matter what.

No offence to him, but C4 are lacking something and that certainly isn’t it.

lol Nathan. With all the Critisim c4 racing gets, AP would be more safe riding.

There is no bigger fan of Sir Tony’s than me but I have my doubts about what he can contribute as a regular broadcaster on past form……he is a fantastic jockey but so was Lester and frankly you wouldn’t be signing either of them up despite their megawatt star quality.

Channel 4 of course can always do a lot worse …Geoff Banks,Tanya Stevenson and Mick Fitzgerald are all terrible and where have they got Nick Lightfoot from……he is the dullest voiceover man I have ever heard and brings nothing…who next? Simon Mapletoft? Dull dull dull……..they are killing it as a programme.

Pershad repeatedly calling Ascots handicap chase “the big race of the day”.

Usual shoddy, disrepectful southern-bias, ignoring the Grade 2 Charlie Hall at Wetherby.

Personally I think AP has a good face for radio ;-) but as he has now signed the contract I think he will be good for the NH Season but I don’t really want to see himself and Mick Fitz at Royal Ascot and Champions Day. As for presenting the Grand National with Ms.Balding I wonder if she’ll get AP standing on a soapbox so that he can look her in the eye B-)
Also I’m hoping that we don’t get visits to plug wife Chanelle’s newly opened boutique during Royal Ascot or worse that she might get AP to put in a good word for her to co-present the Morning Line like a kind of cosy Richard & Judy spin off.
Tony & Chanelle 4, lights, camera…..switch off :negative:

I’m sure that AP will do a great job, and it will be good to see him without the worry of him being in danger of his life. There will never be another like him, certainly not in my lifetime that’s for sure. A true champ.

Btw, AP is 1.78m tall. Clare Balding is a mere 1.7m

I’m also sure that AP will do a good job at Ch.4 DB and his record in NH racing goes without saying, but unlike yourself I’ve never been a great fan of AP and that is just a personal opinion.

The safety of all jockeys and horses are uppermost in our minds throughout the NH and flat season and lesser known jockeys face the same challenges day by day struggling to get decent rides and make a living, they all take risks day by day for the sport we all love and AP has been an example to all of them.

Didn’t realise that Clare was shorter than AP though. She’ll have to try to gain the higher ground by keeping her heels on this season. :rose:

Another C4 own goal. Fitzgerald “yes champ, no champ, can I kiss your arse champ”.

AP is hardly a go on the waltzers is he? Dull, dull, dull.

As he showed yesterday with Rishi, the only thing AP will need to be careful about is his quick-witted tendency to ‘insult’ people. He shows it regularly, and doubtless it’s a legacy of his time in the changing room. None of it will be mean-spirited, but it will soon get to seem as though it is.

DB…Clare and AP getting along nicely as Ch.4 presenters even though she was a little put out by the news that he is a tad taller than her……..

AP starts his media career in hard-hitting fashion following Founds Lasix-assisted victory, calling trainer and jockey “Genius”.

    Controversial stuff.
