    Quite probably Gerald.

That sort of opinion (KS finito) adds nothing to general discussion, so just washes over. He’s much the same over Pandorama (still a monumental talent apparently).

However, Mordin is at his best when he’s playing the (scientific) contrarian- as with Fiepes Shuffle.

Let the BBC rot (slowly, please…) on the vine IMO.

For better or worse we are a minority sport- and sadly (given the chippy political demographic of the BBC rainmakers, who launch fortunes into the pockets of Jonathan Ross and Bruce Forsyth without a second thought) one enjoyed by ‘Toffs’

(En passant- RIP the erudite Ed Stourton- deemed ‘too posh’ to present on Radio 4…… FFS).

Let’s face it, most of us who post here are aficionadios of the sport, and quite likely to be able to access ATR or RUK online, on in our living rooms. Willie Carson won’t be a tragic loss to our lives.

I mouthed off in here on Sunday night about the travesty that was Sue Barker’s utterly pathetic coverage of racing (both codes, 53 seconds) during SPOTY. I take nothing back- they, the BBC, are a smug, PC joke.

Mouth off- Calm Down- Move on.

Bye bye Beeb; hope you enjoy squandering my licence fee on pathetic dancing competitions with implausible phone-in votes, Dr. Who and Cee Beebies.

BBC has not been remotely interested in racing since they managed to persuade Sir Peter to retire (he probably prolonged things 5-7 years, and for that, hats off).

Hope C4 pick up the best bits, but at the end of the proverbial day, we’ll all get our fix from the specialist channels.

It’s a bit like watching ‘Mamma Mia’- its so bad it’s good.

Except that, with SPOTY, it’s so bad it’s not at all good. It’s carp.

In a similar way, Phil Taylor. Set aside arguments over the definition of ‘sport’ but the guy is a phenomenon,

But plies his trade mainly on Sky…….

Agree- totally unsurprising. Just wonder why they bothered at all.

Mind you- will be interesting to see how many swimmers and cyclists are featured 12 months from now.

Somebody challenged me the other night to name 5 UK gold medallists in the last Olympics. Managed Adlington, Hoy and Ainslie, but that was it.

Used Google Chrome, which is pretty quick to look at some Racing Post TV.

    Chose the Tingle Creek preview.

It would run for a few minutes, I’d get the crop circle, and back to the beginning to Alistair Down in the parade ring at Sandown saying in Groundhog Day fashion "The Tingle Creek- what’s it all about".

After 6 attempts, and the wife having removed all nearby sharp objects, I gave up.

On an aside, I’d have made Al Down 10-1 to be the best turned out in the paddock, even though he was on his own….

    Oh dear,

I really have tried, but afraid I have to add my voice to the majority here.

Final straw was clicking on the 12.40 Hereford result today.

What do I see? "No runners found".

The analysis is there, so I am able to do a Sherlock and deduce that Pret A Thou won. Well, words like ‘easy success’ help..

A shocking shambles I am afraid.

Also, as a subscriber to RFI, even when and if they sort it out, I can’t see myself wanting to pay for the premium content. RFI uses the same race analysis as the Post anyway, I think.

Does anyone agree with me that My Will isn’t without a squeak at a huge price (50’s on BF as I type)?

Form on GTS, soft and heavy reads

    RFI comments- priceless!

"….who was last seen pulling up on his chasing debut over 3m2f, could be given a chance on his bumper win over the useful Psychomodo a long time ago, but there was nothing inrecent efforts to suggest he was about to win, even in this race. Given an ‘agricultural’ ride by his amateur jockey up the home straight, he got on top after the last and was edging clear before Mr Knott decided to wave to the crowd just over 100 yards out, something that punters who were on him probably could have done without seeing. Luckily for the jockey, who had not looked behind him, nothing was catching him quickly enough and he won with a bit in hand. However, it did not go unnoticed that he was giving his mount some reminders down the shoulder late on, for which he received a 7-day ban. That said, it was a momentous day in the life of the rider (it was his first winner after 28 years of trying) and it was great to see such pleasure taken in winning a race."

Tomorrow’s card looks far from "top quality" or "fantastic" to me.

A cross-country chase, two extremely moderate big-field handicaps and three conditions races with single-figure fields hardly quicken the pulse.

Agree- which is why AP is up in Newcastle riding 4 for Howard Johnson.
