Using to the RP site (albeit that they are missing 3 winners somewhere, which I’ve added on, but presumably may be missing a few odd rides as well), this is the overall picture, flat & jumps

Official confirmation from John Randall in the Post today, that Kilbeggan Blade at Towcester was the 3000th under both codes.
RP statistical section still showing AP with 85 Irish jumps winners, but JR’s article says 88, so that latter figure has to be gospel.
Tony has a good book of rides @ Leicester tomorrow, but it would be great for him to ride the 3000th jump winner on Saturday live on C4.
Roberto Goldback franked the form of Dunguib today (won as 16-1)
With Edgbriar, that makes it exactly 3000 (including flat races) according to the Post website.
Adding the 9 flat winners to the BHA’s 2993, makes 3002.
So, who is right, Racing Post, or BHA?
Luckily, the Post are running a Tony McCoy week all next week, and I expect a pronouncement from John Randall.
One thing is for sure, he hasn’t got 3000 jump winners yet, but if today was number 3000 all told, many, many congratulations to one, the like of whom we’ll never see again.
Just checked again on the Post website
http://www.racingpost.com/horses/jockey … ey_id=9482
UK jumping winners 2905
Irish jumping winners 85
UK flat winners 3
Irish flat winners 6Makes 2999 by my reckoning. The Post don’t count subsequent disqualifications (correctly IMO) in their stats, which may explain the Torygraph jumping the gun a little.
One for John Randall?
Maybe connections felt they didn’t fancy going through that type of going at Towcester, with it’s ‘north-face-of-the-Eiger’ finish, but that the horse could manage same down that easy-peasy right hand bend down to the post at Hereford.
But, as hypotheses go, I prefer AP’s.
Adare Prince 2999
Burton Port 2998
Kilbeggan Blade 2997
Edited- Post had added Supreme Keano to this season’s winners before I totted it up yesterday, so 2996.
Winner at Taunton yesterday and another at Chepstow today.
I’ve managed to get into the stats section of the Post, and this is the (according to the Post site) definitive total.
Irish Flat winners 6
UK flat winners 3
Irish Jumps winners 85
UK Jumps winners 2902, INCLUDES Supreme Keano todaySo, overall total according to the Post 2996.
Every chance that the 3000 milestone in all races will be reached this weekend
Rides tomorrow at Haydock
Afsoun
Dear Villez
Clay Hollister
Tartak
Matcho Pierji
FinneyTreble today at Newbury
Makes 2985 plus 9 on the flat (2994)
Double at Fakers today, makes it 2982 (plus 9 on the flat)
Thanks IC. Funny that I contributed to the thread on Irish pronunciation without knowing whose brother this was!
.
Simon Holt had a decent go at O’Muircheartaigh; .
This one is easy if, like me, you used to spend Sunday afternoons in rural Wales listening to Gaelic Games on RTE whilst doing A Level history homework. Well, in the days of only 3 TV channels and pubs closed all day, not much choice!
Is the great man still going?
Current update
1. UK winners to end of 2007-8 = 2769
2. UK winners this season to date = 123
3. Irish Jump Winners = 88 (adding Exotic Dancer over Xmas)TOTAL 2980
Plus 9 flat winners.
