This one is easy if, like me, you used to spend Sunday afternoons in rural Wales listening to Gaelic Games on RTE whilst doing A Level history homework. Well, in the days of only 3 TV channels and pubs closed all day, not much choice!

January 5, 2009 at 03:13 #201635Still going strong. He’s well into his 70s at this stage but he’s still an absolutely fabulous commentator. I don’t think there’s as good a commentator at any other sport in the world that I’ve heard.
There was a great documentary on him a few years ago. I’ve posted the Youtube link to the first part of it below. Interestingly enough, it starts off with his visit to Cheltenham with him being asked by John Inverdale as to the correct way to pronounce the name of the horse!
