SantiniBlow by Blow…To win any race 10/1 with Skybet…He could be a JLT,,RSA,,,or 4m horse.I dont mind which so long as he turns up.
I had already got my 40/1 for last years Grand National winner at this point, thanks to Joe higlighting ‘One for Arthur’.This year I have waited for the weights to be published before I jump in and the horse that jumps off the page is Bellshill..42’s on machine has been taken.First and foremost he’s a multiple Grade 1 winner getting in on 10-7..He ran 3rd to the mighty ‘Might Bite’ at Cheltenham, his Trainer had him entered in the 4miler too which suggests he could stay.’Bellshill’ is generally a spring heeled jumper and looks like a horse who could athletically jump Aintree, the course itself suits. He is 7lb better off with Mouse Morris’s plot horse ‘Alpha des Obeaux’ for beating him in RSA,that form reads well. He’s only an 8yo,lightly raced too and he’s won 50% of his 16 runs.I see he could reappear this weekend and his only entry at Cheltenham is the Ryanair.I believe Graham Wylie will let him take his chance at Liverpool as he did have the potential to be carrying 11-7 in this..off his mark of 150 and the fact he’s beaten the very useful ‘Coney Island’ in a Grade 1 3m race suggests off this fly weight his chances of staying look promising in what we know is a bloody nightmare of a race.TAPK has a surprisingly good record in the Grand National and I dont even back all the runners like my old pal Ginge does..

I was at Nottingham the day Sharja Bridge won..He handled cut well and galloped into a headwind over the mile..He looks like his father but has his Grandsires stamina..The Lincoln looks tailor made for him off a mark of 99..14/1 is about fair but will be single figures if he turns up..I certainly think he will.
Its 8yrs since I put Get me out of here up for this..Bloody Robbed I was at 20/1..its 6yrs since I put up Darlan for this and had AP not fluffed his lines he too would have won at 16/1 for me…Its 5 yrs since I was convinced My Tent or Yours would win the Betfair hurdle and ‘Supreme’ at 10/1 and 20/1..He did the business at Newbury but that Cheltenham hill was his nemesis..I have been robbed more times than I have actually won a ‘Supreme’…Vautour did me proud at 10/1..Arcalis did at 25/1 and before that it was Forest sun at 12/1..This year I havent spotted anything that jumps off the page..Until today.Kalashnikov did me and my 15 Twitter followers proud today at 12/1 and he has ‘Supreme’ written all over him,Jack Quinlan rode the almost perfect race,5 out he realised it was time to move, his position wasn’t ideal but the horse went through the gears effortlessly..’Bleu et Rouge’ seemed to be travelling like ‘MTOY’ but couldn’t live with the AK47’s ratta tat tat way of picking up..I have taken all the 10/1 I can get for this years ‘Supreme’ and am confident he will out battle anything at Cheltenham. He has a willing attitude and scope for jumping fences. If he prefers faster ground then he goes off 3/1 on March 13th…No danger..TAPK knows.

Superb analysis as usual Bob…Where do you find the time pal?…I like Gold Present at 16/1 with Ladbrokes but ‘Go Conquer’ has the look of a Jonjo improver,he could make all.I’ve had a bit of 12’s on him but neither could turn up…The only horse I feel is a certainty to actually run is ‘Starchitect’..7/1 could look huge on Saturday when he’s 7/2 fav…I could mention another 10 with chances but I’d have to dye my hair Ginger..

Anyone that saw ‘BDM’s Peter Marsh romp knew he was a player for yesterdays race…Horses for courses applies to this fellow.I backed him for last seasons Gold cup singing his praises but he wasn’t good enough. If however yesterdays form is to be taken literally and the clock shows he ran 10secs faster than the handicap later on then all the beaten horses ran well below par.’BDM’ goes to Kempton with 2 big guns to beat in ‘Might Bite’ and ‘Thistlecrack’ if he beats them he wins the Gold cup and my theory goes out the window.I can see him winning 4 Betfair chases like ‘King Kauto’ but to add a a coiple of KG’s and a Gold Cup or 2 aswell just seems impossible to me.I like the horse a lot but he fiddles his fences and lands too steeply to be a King George/Gold cup contender..I hope I’m wrong and he wins the Million.
2 words that describe me and Ginge well there Nath…
No Gord,
The word that describes me is “Profit”.
The word that describes you is “Prophet”. 😉Well 8/1 ‘Bristol de mai’ tells you that me old Ginger sossage.

The difference between foresight and hindsight
Eh?

Nothing to do with either.

2 words that describe me and Ginge well there Nath…
If Defi du Seuill turns up he’ll carry that lot..JP had both ‘Campeador’ and ‘Charli Parcs’ entered for this and both were well weighted so to run ‘Defi’ only confirms to me that he’s ready to Rock n Roll….10/1 last nights gone 7’s is still huge,he should be 3/1 fav
Money certainly talks and there’s been a few wedges gabbing about Gold Present this week. I’m already tucked in with 33s and 25s but I’m happy with the support I’ve seen. Nicky was coy when questioned by a certain ‘whippy1mr’ (who?) on Twitter, although I really think he was made for this race. Looks absolutely chucked in as well.
Gold Present for me too Boz…I read that Tweet from ‘Whippy’ and I notice Nicky always replys to this fellow…His run at the festival had ‘Mackeson’ written all over it but I only got 25/1.This horse will have a good season,he epitomises a Henderson plot horse.Good luck.
We needed 14 horses to drop out last night Boz to get a run..I took the 27’s on the machine yesterday knowing I’d get reimbursed if he missed the cut…I’ve gone through this race for the past 3 weeks now and like Bobby says in his opening post the winner will come from the Close Brothers Chase at Cheltenham…’Foxtail Hill’ has franked the form and good money for the only horse I see as the danger Tully East..Confidence is King and TAPK’s buzzing about Gold Present cut to 12/1 today..He will be the new ‘Fondmort’.

TAPK’s first proper bet of the Jumps season today and its simply a case of how fit is Blaklion…If Nige has thought about the conditions of this race carefully he knows this fellow is thrown in on his best form…form that includes this tough course that Wetherby is.You have to jump round here to win,no mistakes and having learnt a lot from his Grand National experience I expect a massive run today…10/1 with sportsbook this morning is huge…I took 8/1 e/w in the week expecting an SP of 5/1.The old guard of ‘Cue Card’..Joe shows his loyalty a year too late…
and ‘Coneygree’ will make things interesting..I just hope ‘Bristol des Mai’ is running to put him spot on for the ‘Betfair’ chase a race I have backed him for at 8/1.I also hope Wholestone can show his class..I took the 13/2 about him earlier in the week knowing he’ll be spot on for this..Whoever framed the weights mind makes a mockery of Handicapping how a 146 rated horse gives 3lb to a 164 rated horse both 6yo beggars belief!
