Brilliant!
Wonderful selections, Bobby. I think “out of this world” would be an understatement! Gadfly that I am, having to repair fences that have blown down in the gales, I did not see this entry till today. But I did see your three naps and opted for Booster Bob, which rescued my other failed bets yesterday.
That should set you up for a real tilt at Cheltenham this year. I imagine you have been re-reading all the guidelines you set yourself last year. One can only hope that all the odds-on favourites do not turn into realities (unless, like you, one backed them last April!)
More power to your elbow and have a fabulous Cheltenham this year.
A tough day. I had two non runners from bets earlier in the week (Le Patron, Editeur de Gite), and the other two may as well have been (Shut up Shirley, Bective Abbey. Did back Minella, too. Then bets on two others had shortened a lot giving me the option of cashing out for double the stake, but each was unplaced in the end (Brave Kingdom (pulled up), Smarty Wilde). One to forget!
Did you get on Laskalin? I hope so. Jockey did a great job, I thought. Schalke hit a fence early on. It’s not your horse….I fancied The Big Breakaway, but no bet…Good luck today.
That judgement was deadly accurate, Bobby. What a purple patch you are on this Christmas! Fabulous selections. Long may it continue.
It is a remarkable sequence, possibly unheard of. Awesome at these prices. Fabulous for Bobby.
Fabulous stuff from VTC, a consummate judgement of the horse on 12th January, 2024. One of his specialities, but nonetheless quite remarkable.
Banbridge is a spectacular pick, Bobby! January 12th 2024! Awesome. At 40s.
Hopefully, Banbridge will see you reap a big payout. Good luck!
Very close shave with Duffle Coat! Great pick. Did Janidil lose the jockey? All the best.
You have plenty of time to stick to all the conclusions after the homework you carried out after Cheltenham….:-)
Vtc – It is awful and tragic to see a horse end its days in that way. Nothing makes it any better.
What a fabulous long range strike with El Jefe! Awesome. I thought Conflated was going to make it at one point, but Jonbon has huge reserves.
Good luck today.
Ballyburn is a fabulous long range spot – at 16s!!! – I hope you had a stack on it. Funambule Sivola was a brilliant, “bet for a bit of interest in the race”, I remember? At the time, I decided to follow suit, but after Edwardstone fell, which I had bet on, I did not watch the rest of the race. Later, I saw that I had been paid on FS which came third (though they were paying two, the antepost paid three). Like you, I had 150s so the place win was my best win this week! All down to you as I would not have bet on it. Many thanks.
Great selections, VtC.
Bangers and Cash was a good selection. Clearly well prepared with a race plan, I think. 2023 has been a great year for you. Long may it continue in 2024.
Top selection, VtC. Gavin Sheehan gave Hewick a perfectly timed ride. It’s not the sort of end to the KG that you expect, but was remarkable. Brilliant long pot on your part. Drifted a bit before the off, so I bet it again at 14s. Good luck with the coming races.
I had a look at your post yesterday. For some reason (which is probably obvious) I was convinced that you had formerly tipped Geromino. Consequently, I mistakenly backed Geromino and was happy with the result. However, I think your former tip was Geronimo?
Not sure if you follow Joe’s musings on his blog, but today he put up the following, “Geromino’s owner might be taken to court for misnaming by the Native American Society, who say they might Sioux.” Joe’s recent analysis of the big races has been tiptop on his blog.
Was too busy yesterday morning to take much notice, but I shall look at your selection today and wish you very good fortune at Carlisle.
Later – Hope you backed Butty O’Brien.
