Backed Berkshire Rocco from 25s the whole way out to 36 where I thought his price was ridiculous. I was a bit worried at the off ;-)

Nice run from the winner. I wouldnt have picked the second out if i was there forever. Remarkable purchase from Ireland.

    I was on the winner {classic aftertiming}

I don’t know if audaryia got such a bad ride. She was cruising and he didn’t go shooting off on her. I thought he hung on for as long as he could . She just got out stayed on bad ground

    Well done ID

I know the horse well. I looked into backing him but only as I thought I could get 150/1 on him which wasn’t available.

Once again we underestimate a German horse in the arc.

I wouldn’t say there is any outstanding value here. There usually isn’t when there isn’t a focus on one superstar.

I Like Hurricane Lane and Snowfall but a ledger winner at 5/1 hardly screams value?

The Japanese horses might like the ground :negative:

    Yeah, A very winnable arc.

I dont understand why Mishriff wasnt there. Its not like the Champion Stakes is going to be an easier race. How much money does it actually cost to keep a horse in a race of this size til the final forfeit stage?

Well done sotsass backers👍👍. Worst arc in a while.

I think it’s fair to say the favourite didn’t run her race. Looked a bit keen

Enable seems a very good price to me.

Weaker race than other years. A stayer is at 7s, a horse blown away in the vermeille is 13s. Only Persian King has any right to call himself a genuine group 1 champ. Sotsass will definitely place and should be second fav anyhow

Anyone think Persian King will stay…or am I looking for a bet where none exists.

Its great news for Enable in terms of how the race will be run. Where is the pace now?

    Hang on

ENnable is by Nathaniel out of Saddlers Wells mare that acted on teh ground.
Last year was listed as V soft
The year before it was soft.

Where is this nonsense of she does not like the ground coming from? The conditions might allow stradevarius into it. But those that could not beat her on it last year, wont this year.

Sotscass? Surely there is no form line that suggests he will finish in front of the mare? He didn’t last year. He hasn’t looked like an exceptionl French Derby winner :negative:

    Actually here is a question.

    Which is the bigger achievement?
    1) Winning 3 arcs
    2) Winning an ascot gold cup and an arc

Both seem as unlikely. If Stradivarius can win this arc, he would be the greatest stayer Ive ever seen.

I had a little bet on waldgeist last year as I imagined a scenario where he could reverse placings of the king George. That said, the race fell his way.

A repeat performance by enable will probably see her win. That said, I wonder whether serpentine will put Frankie in an awkward position of having to chase the pace again.

    Might help the stayers

It’s a test for metabolites of cocaine. I would have thought it accurate.

However hair would store those metabolites for a minimum of 90 days..

Enable should be odds on. She has already beaten the likes of Scotsass et Al.

There is a possibility that he would not stay.

However there was no heavy ground forecast when the decision was made to go elsewhere and he has been finishing off his 10F races very impressively. I suspect Frankie had plenty to say about it also. Anyhow, cest la vie. My other fancy was telecaster who is now out.

Serpentine at the odds, but really I dont know. I dont think the final field is working out as strong as it looked a few months ago.
