That was messy lucky no one came down on first circuit , not Frankie’s greatest ride

October 16, 2021 at 13:31 #1563537Toughed it out. Wd backers.
October 16, 2021 at 13:32 #1563538What a good horse to do that 2 weeks after the Cadran. Strad getting a right old cheer too.
October 16, 2021 at 13:34 #1563539Surely that,ll be that with Strad , let him go out like a champion on champions day

October 16, 2021 at 13:56 #1563545He’s run his heart out again but he’s not won a G1 this year, probably running to a similar respectable level on every start and I can’t see that getting any easier as an 8 year old, we’ve seen the younger legs in Subjectivist and Trueshan take over and Tashkhan might have thrown his name in the hat for next season on that showing today.
October 16, 2021 at 14:46 #1563578Backed Berkshire Rocco from 25s the whole way out to 36 where I thought his price was ridiculous. I was a bit worried at the off

Nice run from the winner. I wouldnt have picked the second out if i was there forever. Remarkable purchase from Ireland.

October 16, 2021 at 14:58 #1563599I’d say time for strad to retire now, shadow of his former self. He been a great horse for a number if years, just younger legs are beating him now

October 16, 2021 at 15:10 #1563607Frankie not happy. I wonder how he would get on in a big handicap at Galway.
October 16, 2021 at 15:21 #1563621He seems to have gotten a sense of self-entitlement in his older age greenasgrass first having a go at Hollie Doyle for apparently getting Snowfall beaten and now I presume this is about the lad on Baron Semedi who is still a claimer/apprentice by the way. Might help if he kept his own eyes on what was going on in front of him rather than looking over his shoulder or between his legs all the time.
October 16, 2021 at 15:33 #1563628It may be possible to argue Stradivarius hasn’t had good rides in any of his last three races (although none made the difference between winning and losing)… And possible to argue he’s better / more consistent on firmer ground. However, probability is also that Stradivarius just isn’t as good nowadays. Happy retirement is imo the best policy for this truly Champion Stayer.
Value Is EverythingOctober 16, 2021 at 15:41 #1563633Maybe everyone should leave a nice wide gap and say “There you are Mister Dettori, sir. Do go and win the race, as is your entitlement. And do give us a look round as you do so.”
October 16, 2021 at 16:07 #1563650If I was Frankie,s cat tonight I would make my excuses and spend the night at a pals … Hot fav in the last ..what can go wrong

October 16, 2021 at 16:08 #1563652Interesting to see John Gosden giving a bit of a snipe about his ride on Palace Pier. No doubt that’s somebody else’s fault too.
October 16, 2021 at 17:29 #1563692No decision to be made on Strads future yet for another week.

October 16, 2021 at 17:37 #1563693Why wait a week ? , if they,d said today they could have given him a well deserved sendoff in the enclosure , he deserved that

October 16, 2021 at 19:25 #1563705Agree 100% HDLTG. He’ll be 8 next year and obviously isn’t getting any faster. What are they going to do, send him hurdling?
October 16, 2021 at 20:06 #1563711It’s as well for McMonagle that Robbie Dunne wasn’t on Strad:
