Could do with some advice on mating plans. I `ve got 6 kids on the books and a few in Indo China
Ken,could you check out my mare Glacial Missile ( Spartan there somewhere) Sorry if this a bit cheeky but I can see you know what your doing.May even enjoy it.
Enough serious stuff for me,back to the racing and rugby. On my way to Dubai now. Incidentally never voted red in my life even though I worked in the pit.. Don`t get the wrong impression

There’s no denying that his dam’s side is very well represented from a stamina perspective. He will no doubt stay further.
In there, five generations back, is dear old Vulgan. As many on here know he sired three GN winners including Foinavon. He was also in Royal Athlete, West Tip, Corbiere and Numbersixvalverde, Nil Despernadum, Addington Boy and many others.
Also much more to the fore is The Parson, damsire of that grand but ill fated stayer Young Kenny and he is also the damsire of Parsons Legacy. The Parson was also the sire of the likes of 1991 Scottish National winner Killone Abbey and some very smart types like Danoli and Monsieur Le Cure.
And then there is his damsire Derrylin who produced Youre Agoodun and old favourite and prolific P2P winner County Derry who won the 4m 1f Hunter Chase at Cheltenham.
His sire is the same as another big National hopeful from a few years ago namely Moor Lane who missed the cut. Primitive Rising did produce a Scottish National 4th (and winner of the Foxhunters) Last Option but by and large he does not tend to produce marathon staying chasers. BFT is by far and a way the best he has produced and I believe BFT was from his last or penultimate crop. Primitive Rising died in 2002.
Ken, I have a nice bumper horse called Royal Scoundrel. Do you think he is bred to win the GN in due course? Bit of West Tip and Royal Athlete.
Wasn`t it the Tory`s who demutualised the building societies and released all this terror on the World in the first place. The likes of Northern Rock had no business acting as banks. Ideas above their station I`d say.
I know backing a novice could be considered heresy but Big Fella Thanks at 50/1 is very tempting.

My 50`s and secondary 25`s looking good fellas? Sweet.

Harry Findlay says in the RIP today that he bought him because he was the best jumper his former trainer had ever seen. I can confirm his jock has also said smething similar.
If a 7-y-o novice with 5 chase runs wins the National, I’ll take all my trend books and make a nice bonfire in the back garden. IMHO you guys should take advantage of the hype to trade out for a profit.
Interesting that TS starts his report today with" The trend boys aren`t going to like it because this is the race they relish more than any other, but the one I fancy more than most is the novice BFT,who is progressing at a rate of knots and could easily be thrown in off this mark"
Roddy
do you have to be careful about having a bet on another horse, just in case there a change of mind and Iron Man runs in the GN instead of the Topham?
Gerald
Problem will be getting him in Gerald. He`s coming back to form now IMO but probably miss the cut. Looks like the Topham
Having just had a proper look at the race, I agree with Roddy Owen.
Just watched the romp in the Sky Bet, [expletive] stats, this horse has a future.
The 33’s won’t be there for long; this is a plot horse, and he has nice e/w claims in what looks a pretty average renewal to me.
What’s the breeding suggest Kendal?
Pricewise ( TS ) has selected BFT for the GN this morning in the RIP. Nice to know we were there before him at 50`s

20/1 now and very strong

Hi IC,good to see a 6 Nations thread on here.
Interesting analysis you make. Firstly dealing with the English team, this is the team who three years ago considered themselves too big for the six nations ,and discussed putting the Celtic nations in a sort of second division. Why do they say these things . How times have changed.
Make no mistake the English pack will suffer Saturday at the Millenium. If they play Sheridan at loose head it would be an act of crass stupidity. Technically he is the worst scrummager I have seen, and has been this way for a number of years. Where you play him I don`t know, but not loose head. In fact if he is there when they play Scotland, and the best tight head in the British Isles gets hold of him,Ewen Murray,it could finish him completely. Its fair to say Wales are playing with confidence. Two Grand Slams in three years speaks volumes ,and they excuded class on Saturday ,even without their captain and best centre. Bringing on the legions in the last quarter was probably a mistake and unsettled the team ,and Gatland was the first to admit it. But he needs to give his whole squad a game. Overall they looked great. Scotland don`t forget ran RSA close the the Autumn Internationals.
The Ireland/France game looked great with outstanding skills on both sides . Wales have a great record in France in recent years and will go there with confidence. Ireland in Cardiff will be a great game. Lets hope its for the Grand Slam.
England and Italy ,what can you say. After the crazy positioning of a great flanker,Bergamasco at scrum half was reversed,I thought Italy came into the game very well.
I think O`Connel will captain the Lions alwright and deserves to, although Ryan Jones would be close. The thought of a great bog Irishman as captain is part of Lions folklore and memories of Moss Keane and the Ballymena giant , big Willy John McBride are etched in the memory
I subscribe to RUK ( with Setanta to get the rugby too ) and generally agree with most of the comrnents on here. You need both in order to get the best out of it. Get On is an excellent programme ,with interviews with trainers that we would have cut our right arms off years ago for.
The tits speak for themselves
Can you believe he nearly kissed Nicky Henderson. Gave all the credit to Dave Roberts.
