Yes I think Limato is probably the best horse in the field but he was kept away from anything but good to firm last season and I would be a little worried that Twilight Son from the same stable looked as if he needed the run in his race during the week.

I am going with Belardo now that Doyle is off and Atzeni is up – he was 8/13 to beat Toormore at Sandown and was given a terrible ride by Doyle that gave the horse no chance.. If you put a line through that race then Belardo looks a big price today

I really like Moonlight Magic but I don’t know if I would back him for the Derby, there is a lot of speed in his Pedigree.. but in a bad year maybe he will be good enough – to be honest I think he should still improve, he was still very green at the end of last season – it looked like they left a lot to work with.

I didn’t see the race today but I do remember in his win at the end of last season he looked a bit of an awkward big horse with an odd stride (maybe just as he was still green) so I’m not sure how he would get on at Epsom but surely Godolphin will want to run him now?

I really like Bolgers Moonlight Magic hes about to run in the Derrinstown, I don’t know if he’s entered in the Derby but was really impressed with him at 2 and don’t think the ground suited him LTO

Although I wonder if that was just the fact that it took O’Meara a couple of runs to get improvement out of her because she had run very poorly on her last couple of runs for Dunlop

Actually I just noticed she took a couple of runs to hit top gear last season, I was sure she won first time out! Sorry!

I edited out my evaluation of Esoterique as I basically said her price was laughable and thought maybe I was being a bit harsh. Andre Fabre has never won this race btw.

I don’t know about this.. Esoterique’s second in the Queen Anne is surely very good form & I wouldn’t read too much into Fabre not winning the race before. The trip is a worry though, Esoterique looks bred to be a miler and might even get 10f so tomorrow looks on the sharp side but at 5/1 I might be tempted
