I see Ralph Becketts Pure Art is out to 3.00 on Betfair at the minute as support must be coming for Pirouette who is now fav. I can’t see the price lasting so adding another –

    3.55 DONC Pure Art (2pts) – 3.00

    4.10 YARM – Heatstroke (5pts) 6/4 BPG

    Day total – 5pts (£50)

    Running totay – +2.5pts (£25)

Yesterdays bet let me down big time but, lessons learned and onto today there are a few I like

    2.10 NEWM – Shabeeb (1pt) 5/1 BPG

He may not have the form in the book that the Golodphin favourite has (2nd to Hawksbill and just as impressively 2nd to Algometer) but I think that the step up in trip should suit Varians horse more, at least on breeding and he is very unexposed after giving Mark Johnston’s decent sort Monstarrat a heavy beating last time out.

    2.40 NEWM – Silver Line (1.5pt) 13/2 BPG

Mehmas will be tough to beat but this horse has an awesome turn of foot and open to plenty of improvement on just his second start

    3.15 NEWM – The Grey Gatsby (1pt) 10/3 BPG

Willing to give the old boy one more chance with his favoured conditions in a weak field (compared to the races that he ran in over the last couple of years)

    Best of luck,
    Conor

I am on SILVER LINE at 7/1 for this

Think he has been crying out for six furlongs and expect him to improve for the step up in trip!! :good: :good:

I agree fully here – this horse showed a turn of foot that was truly special in winning his maiden.. I think he could turn out to be a very very good horse

    Silver Line 6/1

Wow I would have to watch that race again. I don’t know whether to apportion all of the blame on Spencer or some of the blame of if they just didn’t care if the horse won.. he was cantering all over the others and Spencer couldn’t get a gap – he almost stopped the horse just before the line but I think in fairness he may have already been beaten, it looked worse than it was. Still a horse to follow for sure as was the best horse in the race by a long way – if this horse can get into a good handicap coming off of a strong pace then he has a great chance.. the muddling pace today definitely didn’t help things.

Thanks mate.. I think they definitely wanted to give it an easy ride that day he could have won the race but Spencer barely put a hand on him – this looks like a weaker race. I was hoping that they would put it in a stronger race to get a better price as I’m sure the horse has some class.

The only worry would be if Spencer is told not to give it a hard time again this race and they are using it as a warm up for something bigger.. but if they try to win the race I can see it going very close.

I usually bet on a 1-3 pts scale but today is an exception..

    4.10 YARM – Heatstroke (5pts) 6/4 BPG

I’ve been waiting for this horse to reappear since his very promising fourth at Sandown 41 days ago – returning from almost a two year absence Jamie Spencer let the horse come out of the gate in his own time and lost 5-6 lengths from the off – the horse proceeded to canter all over his rivals without coming off the bridle and without almost any urging from Spencer to finish fourth in the end. The third that day ‘Secret Art’ came out and won a Class 2 Handicap at Sandown on Saturday.

    All the best Conor

    Thanks f

I have had a quick look at this race Steve and the first one that strikes me is Cumani’s LOVING THINGS at 8/1. Trainer is in fine form and the horse is a typical Cumani slow burner and won very nicely last time out at Pontefract over a mile and a half.
The other one that could be interesting is NIGHTFLOWER which has ran is a variety of Group ones with varying degrees of success and has ran behind some top class fillies and at 14/1 could be over priced.

Thanks very much for that write up Steve I wouldn’t have backed the horse otherwise I owe you :good:

I’m with Willytheconqueror, I know I’ve missed the price but 8/1 is still ok.. straight win – he did finish 2 lengths behind Easton Angle my original selection – How Brando is 9/4 in this race I don’t know

    Friday 1/7/16

    2.00 Donc – Hard Toffee (0.5pts) 9/4 BPG
    2.30 Donc – Stanley (1.5pt) 9/2 BPG
    3.05 Donc – Dubka (1.5pts) 13/8 BPG
    3.35 Donc – Futoon (0.5pts) 3/1 BPG

A few more I like on the evening meetings but need to take a longer look.. really like the look of Stanley with the Cumani stable hitting form. Dubka looks a typical unexposed Stoute 3yo improver and he seems to be bringing some of his decent animals to Doncaster lately.

    Yesterdays results –

    Love Dreams 1pt (2.76) WON + 2.76

    Total Staked £20, returned +£27.6 (Profit £7.6)

(I think I might have made an error calculating some of my earlier posts where I added the stake to my return but I’ll go back and adjust the total later on once I get a chance)

Love Dreams returns at 8/11.. There’s a particular satisfaction of backing a horse at 7/4 and seeing it return that much shorter :yahoo:
