Welcome back Lost Soldier, good to see back on here.

I don’t see the problem with this good luck to Racing Daily.

William Hill are still offering odds (or were last time I looked) with no NRNB on horses that are not going to be running, hardly a fair chance there

Racing Daily’s bet is on odds and places on offer from the bookie, he hasn’t set the prices himself, he’s more likely to lose then win, I’d be baffled if he appeared on Crimewatch.

Thanks Nathan, I was a little baffled by the response I got too… All that I am doing is taking advantage of the inefficiencies in the each way system – 90% of the time each way works to the bookies advantage (i.e. the ‘place’ part of your bet is a much worse price than the ‘true place’ odds…14 runner handicaps for example, you bet a 12/1 each-way in one of those and you can be fairly sure that the place odds you’re getting (12/4 or 3/1) will be much less than the true odds)… and if the bookies are offering NRNB ante post betting then I have no moral issue in punishing them for it – they are doing it as a loss leader anyway in order to get people into their shops or onto their websites. They know they are losing money by doing it.

Does anyone know if Beyond Conceit is going to go here for sure?.. it seems that Nico de Boinville is named to ride him here but he doesn’t have a jockey beside his name in the Supreme. I was really impressed with this horse on his return (after nearly 4 years off) at Newbury and I think on the next run he might have bounced a little. He could be the value as totally unexposed over hurdles and trained by a master in Henderson. I have him matched at 85 for the Supreme but I’m not sure what price I should take for the Neptune, he is only 16/1 NRNB which doesn’t make enough appeal I think I would want 25/1 if Neon Wolf is lining up.

What about Cole Harden for this?.. surely aimed at it and he will get his ground, 5/1 in the W/O market seems more than fair to me

Yeah I suppose so, not sure I could live with myself though. I think I’ll stick to handbag thefts and burglary.

Fair enough, I don’t personally feel too much remorse for these firms when I see the way they have promoted the use of FOBTs over the last 10 years through promotions and giveaways, creating a generation of hard gambling addicts in order to fill their coffers.. maybe donating a portion of the profits to the NHS to help treat the victims of these companies might be an idea.

A bit more difficult to get around 10 shops if you don’t live in a city maybe

Sounds like an expressway to a 0.01% account to me! :negative:

Of course but just use shops instead.. put the legwork in and you can get a tenner on in ten different shops – when it comes to Cheltenham these bets won’t even be looked at by security, believe me.

What do you guys all think? Will you be planning to do any of these types of doubles and trebles this year?

What sort of horses are you looking at to get placed in these races? Any particularly strong place fancies?

    Regards,
    C

IF you decide to do some of these bad ew horses in doubles and trebles then do them in shops, don’t do them on any accounts that you have access to as the companies really take a dim view of this type of thing.

My fav bet at the minute is an each-way treble – Charbel 8/1, Special Tiara 20/1 and Cole Harden 8/1 (in the regular stayers market which for a £10 ew stake returns £17,348.00 if they somehow all won (hardly) but if they all place then it pays £338.00.. which is not bad when it would probably pay around 10/1 on a straight place market treble

If this was a bigger field and I was sure he was going to get a strong toe into the race then it would be a 5pt bet but not fully sure if that will be the case tomorrow.

Another terrible day, I see that my old friend Heatstroke is out again tomorrow – I really think this horse is up to winning some decent races but whether it will be tomorrow who knows?

    4.10 YARM – Heatstroke (5pts) 6/4 BPG

    Day total – 5pts (£50)

    Running totay – +2.5pts (£25)

Yesterdays bet let me down big time but, lessons learned and onto today there are a few I like

    2.10 NEWM – Shabeeb (1pt) 5/1 BPG (-1.0)

He may not have the form in the book that the Golodphin favourite has (2nd to Hawksbill and just as impressively 2nd to Algometer) but I think that the step up in trip should suit Varians horse more, at least on breeding and he is very unexposed after giving Mark Johnston’s decent sort Monstarrat a heavy beating last time out.

    2.40 NEWM – Silver Line (1.5pt) 13/2 BPG (-1.5)

Mehmas will be tough to beat but this horse has an awesome turn of foot and open to plenty of improvement on just his second start

    3.15 NEWM – The Grey Gatsby (1pt) 10/3 BPG (-1.0)

Willing to give the old boy one more chance with his favoured conditions in a weak field (compared to the races that he ran in over the last couple of years)

    Best of luck,
    Conor

I see Ralph Becketts Pure Art is out to 3.00 on Betfair at the minute as support must be coming for Pirouette who is now fav. I can’t see the price lasting so adding another –

4.00 York LA RIOJA (3pt win) 4.3 Betfair – this horses fo behind Quiet Reflection just looks too strong for me in this race. (-3.0)

    4.30 York CENTRAL SQUARE (1.5pt win) 7/4 BPG (-1.5)

    2.40 Newm Fawaareq (0.5pt win)10.5 Betfair (+5.25)

    4.15 Newm Amazing Maria (1pt win) 7.5 Betfair (-1.0)
