Mine is Black Caviar. It nearly happened at Ascot too. The guy Moody has a bad attitude I reckon.

I saw him in the Mount Royale after racing during Ebor week a couple of years ago. He was off the wagon then, drinking red wine.
He had already declared sometime previously that he had a problem and needed to stop. Sad really.
He’s very good at his job but excess will hurt both his performance and obviously his health.

The front two in last years epic Dewhurst not seem as 3yo’s leaves an unsatisfied feeling about this season. Sad but that’s flat racing in a nutshell for me.

Only my opinion but Glorious Goodwood is not even the best racing festival THIS WEEK. Galway puts it into the shade on so many levels.

The big York meet is top for flat fans. Over the jumps, the Perth festival is great fun – especially when Pipe, Nichols and Hobbsy wheel out some one theirs for the big trip north.

    Thanks AP / Blue.
I’m lead to believe that he has now resigned has place on the council of the Jockey’s Association.

£1370 per week…WOW. Poor old jockeys.

    Thank David.

Given that his punishment is essentially a financial one, I’m struggling to see how his continuing payment equates to a punishment at all.

I would suggest that if payments are funded by the IJF then better use could be made of contributions to this charity.

Yes, the facade is essentially the same. It probably is listed. Pubs to flats though are a sign of the times. More will follow I’m sure.

The Tap and Barrel’s a good pub for pre race drinks. It’s also just about the nearest to the track (within walking distance) now that The Queens has been turned into flats.

Careful with some of the pubs in Ponte such as the Grove Lea though. They still did not even know the war was over. I found a Japanese POW still hiding under the pool table while I was in! :)
