Peter Marsh then Aon would be my call but he’s apparently got others for the Haydock race (Big Bucks etc)
Looks very very special this one and a future Gold Cup winner if ever I’ve seen one if they decide to go down that route in the future.
I knew they were looking for a starting point but I didn’t realise he was ready for a run already…
I’m sure I read that Kingscliff hacked up in a point last week…
On Tingle Creek day HJ said that he was doing well but they ain’t going to make a decision until the new year. He did add that it was probably it for him though as he owes them nothing.
It’s bound to be a very tactical affair but surely you’re not disappointed with the race we’ve got on our hands Paul…?
Tomorrow’s whole card is the best I’ve ever seen at this meeting for quality/depth.
Maybe Tidal Bay was off colour rather than outpaced in the Tingle Creek because he battered Takeroc at Aintree over 2m but only just beat him at Sandown when his stamina should helped him more.
Looking ahead to the KG, I think Kauto is very vulnerable this time around so I’m just hoping that he comes alive at his favourite track/under ideal conditions…
Will we get the 5-day entries for Boxing Day on Saturday or earlier than that?
Totally agree Grey Dolphin.
In 2001, they ran the Bula at Newbury on the Weds when Valiramix won.
WoA was getting beaten in these sorts of races before the injury so all in all I think its been a very credible comeback especially as connections seemed very pessimistic about how long he’d last before breaking down again.
If he’s there in March on decent ground, I think he’ll run a gallant race without troubling the principles…
Well done Beckster, smashing horse!
Wasnt it something about the land being contaminated Firefox?
I’m no Jonjo hater so I tend not to get involved in these threads but the demise of Black Jack Ketchum still baffles me. Went from looking like a horse from the gods to struggling past Faasel in less than a year, sad to witness.
We have this argument every 6 months which says it all about the problems they’ve got and Don’t Push It is a horse that epitomises it…
He’s gone from pushing Denman all way in a novice chase to tailing off in handicaps, not good is it?
I wasn’t overly happy with his ride on Kauto because if you look at the head on, he was head down pointing the horse directly at the wing of the third last.
Other than that it’s just been an incredibly unlucky patch for the him & the stable for that matter but it began before Ruby got injured. Its also laughable that people cannot believe it when they aren’t winning the big races every Saturday.
And no, I don’t think Paul Nicholls has helped the situation – everytime he’s been asked about Kauto he has subtly hinted that Sam was to blame and then his latest statement regarding the Hennessy – ‘I have my own opinion on what happened today but I’ll say more tomorrow after I’ve watched the video’ doesn’t help matters at all.
Am I imagining things or did Tommo do an Irish gig recently – Down Royal perhaps?
Awful commentator for me and didn’t he even admit that he hated the job these days a few years ago?
I remember him not even noticing that Solerina fell in one race and he seems to do the bare minimum each time instead of putting that little bit extra in as say, Simon Holt would.
I like the irish commentator that RTE usually use – Tony O’Hehir I think?
Presumably poor Granit Jack ran in at least three chases in France then right or has this just been brought in?
My local is also a bit of a sorry sight these days and that’s on a Fri/Sat night but is there really much incentive to venture out in the middle of winter to pay £2.50 – £3 a pint + taxi fare and potentially come across hassle when you can get incredible deals when buying booze in the supermarket?
