That was a good performance by sts, setting a new record of a fast pace. But i dont think i would be taking a short price with him in the irish champion in not even 3 weeks time, thats why i reckon ballydoyle ran 2 pacemakers to make it a tough fast pace and this race might of taken a lot out of sts and it wont be any easier in 18 days at lepoardstown

In the guineas rvw was only beaten 2/3 lengths by sts,if you watch the race again you will hes following sts then for some reason johnny m switches left he looses at least a length, then hes knocked side ways by the bolger horse and again looses his montenum, in the derby he was beaten a over a length coming from further back then sts did if he was only a length behind sts when he had started his run then i reckon he would of beaten him.So at his price i think hes great value.

Anyone who saw sts win the beresford stakes last oct would never in a million yrs had him down has a guineas winner he didnt look quick enough then, moviator and erhabb would imo been quick enough to have run in the their guineas both had a lot of speed that would of seen them there at the finish.

Im glad o’brien is going to let steinbeck miss this race, over the last 10 yrs or so this race had been a grave yard for 2yrs,with only landeers and htn who both won this race going on to be classic winners, plus the rock and hre who were both unplaced but when to be very good horses.Funny enough all 4 were trained by o’brien.

AOB is always going to have large number of horses in the derby from now on,and the reason for this in the past most of there best horses mostly from danehill/stormcat and were mile/quarter horses. Given that danehill is dead and storm cat has been retired, plus the fact that montjue and gallieo have done so well at stud these are ones that coolmore are going to buying at the sales.

It seems to me that some people just dont get ballydoyle/coolmore.They put the jockeys on the horses that will suit them.rvw has always looked a ricky ride and johnny has ridden him in all his races so it is of no surprise that he is on him. look back over the last few yrs and jockey booking from ballydoyle in the classic races has made no difference what so ever.

I doubt very much AOB would of sent fame and glory for the ballysax stakes letting him carry a 5b penalty if he wasnt high up in his pecking order, oxx was very keen on his horse for both races and both times he was beaten fair and square imo. with sts and masterofthehorse there from ties closely from the berefords stakes when oxx’s other horse was 3rd, sts has shown his well bein winning the guineas, while master should of won the chester vase,i think it pays to look at the form from that race, sometimes i think we can over look certain form, its like the maiden that bbi freemantle and sts all ran there 1st races in they finished 2nd 3rd and 4th,and it was intresting that in the dante bbi confirmed the placing with freemantle and for me i think bbi will finish in front of sts no matter where they finish. in the 2007 guineas that cockney rebel won, eagle mountain finish 5th beaten around half a length, the same distance roughly that cockney beat him in there only previous meeting at doncaster as 2yr olds

Just watch the dewhurst for the 1st time since oct,and i was very impressed with rvw under hands and heels and he’s gaining grd rapidly towards the finish.conenctions must be very confident i dont imagine that they would be running him with the problem he has had if they didnt think he would go very close

Bulwark, if you think the ground for the national stakes was anything like newbury on saturday then no offence pal,but im glad your not a clerk of a racecourse. The grd for the national stakes was alwful bad grd, even john oxx stated that he had never seen the grd that bad at the curragh. It took a lot of guts and class for MCM to win that race like he did.Look how shaweel ran in the dewhurst he ran well not beaten that far,its just possible that he hasnt trained on and that could be the reason he ran like he did on saturday

I would be amazed if AOB didnt have either of these horse cherry riped for newmarket, whether they good enough on the day is a diffrent matter.Over the last 6/7 yrs he has always had a slow time in early season winners and if anything it would be more of a concern if he did start having tons winners early on.The best thing about AOB is he lets the horses come to themselves which is one of the reasons i think his horses hold there form as long as they do through the season. Come guineas day if either of his horse are beaten it wont be because they havent come to hand. On the ladbrokes thing with ballydoyle this is the same bookmaker that went 12-1 with rockhampton after he won his maiden, and he was put in his place at newmarket the other day not what you would expect from a horse that was 4th-5th fav with ladbrokes for the derby plus they were the bookmakers that had HTN at his biggest price before the guineas last i would not take any notice of the ladbrokes/ballydoyle thing to be honest

Looking at Mastercraftman as a 2yr,its pretty obvious whatever he did last yr that he would make a better 3yr,his run in the phoenix stakes was a very good effort beating some good horses in the process,i dont subcribe to the idea that his rivals ran below form( why do people seem to come up with that. That if a couple of fancied horses get beat then its seems that they had to of run below form) I like this horse a lot and would be surprised if he was out of the 1st 3 come guineas day .

Gerald, what bookmaker did you get 16/1 from for Miesque before she ran in her trail??? Your one lucky guy if you did because to my memory Miesque was 2-1 winter fav for the 87 guineas all the way through
