Looks like a decent race in prospect here. My initial short list would consist of:
    Jayo
    Northern Alliance
    Will Jamie Run.
Anyone else any thoughts on this?
    Mike.

Would have to add Trafford Lad to the list after a closer look. Have to wait now for final decs.
    Mike.

I still think that you can’t ignore Katchit here. Trainer seems to have been saving him for this. His three runs this season were at, Ascot, Wincanton and Kempton. All right handed tracks which wouldn’t play to his strengths. 5 from 6 at Cheltenham and 5 from 5 at the distance are stats not to be ignored. I’m not saying he will win but he is a player who hasn’t been given a chance so far this season. Definite each way material.

I start every race evaluation with what I consider to be a short list of horses from which I think the winner should come. There is obviously more to it than that and now the hard work of studying begins. It will probably be Tuesday when we know the state of the ground before a final decision is made. If pressed at the moment I see no reason why Celestial Halo should finish in front of Binocular. I expect Osana to be spot on but as a front runner he could again set it up for a hold up horse. Katchit you have to respect at Cheltenham.

Like most on here I find this a race a hard one to work out. My three against the field are: Big Fella Thanks, Lacdoudal and Hold Em. I agree with others that BFT could be a lot better than he has yet shown. He is value for far more than his winning margin last time out as he idled in front. Lacdoudal ran much better last time than on his debut and has the form in the book to run a big race. Hold Em is another who could show improvement in this race. He does need to impove his jumping but I would expect connections to have worked on that. BFT is a worthy favourite and looks nailed on to be in the first four at least but I would like him to win.
    Mike.

    Hi Guys,
Well after reading about this race there are a few trends to be wary of. All of the last ten winners had won over at least 3m 1f. Only six of the last 20 winners were aged 10 or over. Seven of the last ten had won at least one of their last two races. My main list at the moment consists of, Jass, Iwillrememberyou, Morgan Be, Lyes Green and Stagecoach Diamond. The trends say three of them can’t win so I’m left with two. My top rated are however, Jass and Iwillrememberyou and a small wager on these two will probably be as far as I go in this. Good luck to the rest of you.
    Mike.

    Bulwark,
I see they are now giving the going for the hurdle course as soft gs in places. This suggests it may not be as testing as first thought. Have just read on the RP site that Henderson has walked the track and is very tempted to run Sentry Duty saying the ground should be fine.
    Mike.
