I’m disappointed as I was looking forward to seeing him jump a fence.

Maybe this decision will make up Pipe’s mind regarding Osana’s plans for next season. He’s less likely to win the Champion Hurdle now, so they will hopefully send him chasing.

Good analysis there LGR; may have a cheeky e/w punt on North Parade myself.

I think Alexandros has the race at his mercy if he takes to the ground.

The draw at Chester is only significant in races shorter than a mile.

Liverpool is only 30 minutes away on the train and a ticket is only about £3. Chester has a good nightlife. Plenty of bars and places to eat, but it does get crowded.

Excellent points made all round here guys (and gals?).

I think that this years middle distance division is lacking, and we need a three year old to come through to offer some spice. The retirements of Dylan Thomas and Authorised, and possibly Notnowcato who I’ve not heard news about, as well as the unfortunate injury to Manduro, means that nothing stands out in my opinion, and Curlin stands every chance if he handles the track and ground. Big ifs though.

I had a slice of luck with Admiral a couple of years ago, but other than that I’ve had nothing in this race. Great meeting though, my favourite flat meet of the year.

I’m going to sterr clear this year as nothing is jumping out at me. I’d like to see Fair Along go well because I ilke the horse, but don’t rate his chances today.

If pushed, I’d select double banded off bottom weight for Kieren McEvoy.

Henrythenavigator is bred to get more than a mile, but I don’t think he has shown any signs in any previous runs that he has the scope for a mile and a half at Epsom.

    pengamon:

Interesting stuff. How would you rate Curlin’s chances, if he was to take his chance?

Maybe he hasn’t trained on in quite the way Bolger thought he would?

There was talk of a tilt at the Triple Crown in the winter. It seems a strange one.

He won’t run, and it will not affect the betting

he obviously fails to subscribe to the best racing forum in the land.

    Haha

Seriously though, you’re right. A win may have been out of the question if Master Minded is anywhere near as good as last time, but a place was there for the taking. Better prize money too I believe. Very strange decision.

John Parrott is a lovely man. An an Evertonian to boot :D

However, saying that <5’s is reasonable is the National isn’t on. I couldn’t imagine a certain Mr McCrirrick being happy about it on television.

Lough Derg is all set to run again on Saturday I believe. That’s a complete joke if it happens.

    .

I think both Binocular and Captain Cee Bee would’ve gone very close in this years Champion hurdle had they run.

The time of the Sumpreme compared favourably with the Champion.

Pagan Starprincess was running on well there, and could have claimed third if it wasn’t for the tumble at the last. One for the notebook.

Can I just say – Great performance by Our Vic. I for one didn’t think he’d get the trip against such horses as Kauto and Exotic, but he battled on and has been like a new horse this season.
