I was impressed with him at Wincanton and Newbury. I fancied him at Aintree but he fell early on. He’s disappointed both times he’s been to Prestbury park, but yesterday was a hurdle race, and I notice he’s been entred in the Scottish Champion Hurdle.

Anybody have any idea if hurdling is his future, or just to protect his handicap mark for early next season?

    Thanks.

I’d interpret the Ayr entry as an insurance in case he checked out early at Cheltenham yesterday. With Kilbeggan Blade Ayr-bound and likely spare capacity in the horsebox, it wouldn’t have put Tom George out to any extent.

However, his website update of Monday very much indicates that Cheltenham was intended, all things being equal, to represent his last outing of the season.
