Set to line up in the Totesport Bowl tomorrow.
I can’t understand why he’s being placed there rather than his favoured 2m4f on Friday?
They aren’t running scared of Master Minded are they? I think they have more to worry about in the Bowl. He won’t see out the trip in my opinion, and is a big win lay.
April 2, 2008 at 11:04 #155113Declared in both.
April 2, 2008 at 11:08 #155115Aye, but connections are favouring the Bowl. The Melling is the alternative, if it comes up soft.
April 2, 2008 at 21:32 #155280It seems the Richards’ have a habit of not having a clue about the best trip for their horses. You’d think he would have worked it out by now…..
Still seems strange to me that he didn’t run at Cheltenham considering there is a Grade 1 race over his ideal trip (RYANAIR), and he is the best specialist at this trip in the country.
April 2, 2008 at 21:38 #155282Monets Garden doesn’t like Cheltenham..I don’t think there was ever any intention this season to run him there. Love the horse to bits; hope he runs really well tomorrow.

He came 2nd in an Arkle there so he can’t hate it that much. And last year he burst a blood vessel and scoped badly, you can’t blame that on Cheltenham.
April 3, 2008 at 16:45 #155540hindsight is wonderful, but i’m sure Nicky Richards should be rueing both the fact he missed the Ryan Air where as a Gp1 he would have ran without his penalty compounded by his decision today. he obviously fails to subscribe to the best racing forum in the land.
April 3, 2008 at 16:47 #155541Completely agree. Should have gone for the Ryanair. Admittedley, no one saw Master Minded being this good before Cheltenham so Nicky Richards probably thought the Melling was his for the taking.

Haha

Seriously though, you’re right. A win may have been out of the question if Master Minded is anywhere near as good as last time, but a place was there for the taking. Better prize money too I believe. Very strange decision.
