Poor Harry Handsome .. another Sedgefield botch up, poor horse terribly injured at the third and still stricken in front of the next fence when the field nearly ran into him on the second circuit, a couple of blokes rushing to put chevrons on top of the fence and another waving the flag from the side of the jump; just one person at the scene trying to hold on to Harry who was rearing up and so distressed by the field of runners passing him at close quaters … no screens and prob still waiting for a vet.
Sedgefield despite all the complaints they get still not up to speed with welfare.Such a loss – so sad to see poor scotsirish suffer such a horrible fate, condolences to all connections RIP
Bit iffy!
The 2 Connermara horses reported as died .. are owned by the same syndicate. Both horses had poor form.I’ve just watched the race on ATR… It looks like the horse was possibly hampered by a fallen horse at the last fence and might have been injured.
Regarding Mikalina… when the horses pass the stricken horse on the second circuit the screens are not fully round the horse and there appears to be a man punching at the horse… I do hope I am mistaken but I have looked at the race twice now and it looks rather sinister.
Oh no he was an absolute super star- I will never forget him battling against Earth Summit carrying top weight of 12 st in one of his Grand Nationals………. his beautiful face splattered with mud… he was brave and gave his all and will not be forgoten. Good night beautiful boy.
Linnet
‘Ballygullen’ looks to be another to suffer from being pushed too hard, it was an awful sight …as luck would have it he seems he survived.
Very bad fall and woese to see him run off in such a bad way. Hope he was caught before he took any more damage.
Goodbye old lad …..you gave us some great memories.
I aggree completely , there are too many horses running 20 horses would make the race safer .. no one wants to see horses being brought down because they can’t get out of the way.
The plight of that injured horse was the most pityfull sights I have ever seen, The course managers should be ashamed……. they have completly failed that poor horse in every waay. To let a horse suffer likethat in this day and age just beggars belief.
Time and time again we are seeing a lack of vetinary care on Irish racecourses, is anybody going to take up this issue because it is doing a great disservice to the sport of racing and if not addressed will probably lead to the sport being banned as the public will not tolerate this situation for ever.
Docklands Express … such fantastic memories of him he was very very special and so glad to hear that he had a good life after racing … he was a star.
Terrible to see Monsieur have such a horrible fall ….. standing there head down in such a bad way. I dont think I have seen a racehorse with so many races over such short periods of time quite shocked! RIP
Soren Sveistrup’s ‘The Killing’ is absolutley gripping. It is dark and moody reflecting the scandinavien winters. Lund’s character is torn between finding the killer and the promise of a new life with her boyfriend in Sweden.
The chemistry with Troels Hartmann is interesting as is her relationship with her replacement Jan Meyer. The plot moves at a fast pace ….. just when I think I know ‘who done’ then another spanner is thrown in the mix. I,m definately addicted to ‘The Killing’ and looking forward to the next showing.
Yes I agree it did look like she may have suffered a heart attack and began to panic, what an awful thing to happen to her. Condolonces to all her connections.
Very sad to see the horse so badly injured and still not attended to as the horses raced past him on the second circuit…….I’m afraid it looks very bad for racehorse welfare. Hope that someone will pick up the batton so that some good can come out of it such a tragedy.
