Fell and fatally injured at Plumpton today. RIP.
October 29, 2011 at 16:45 #374759Should have been 8 years.
Well yes; without wanting to open the whole whip debate down here, pushing on an exhausted horse (I understand this was reported by officials at the fence) has long been my biggest welfare issue. For him to get less than McMahon did, when his horse finished in one piece, is completely wrong.
October 29, 2011 at 20:31 #374816‘Ballygullen’ looks to be another to suffer from being pushed too hard, it was an awful sight …as luck would have it he seems he survived.
October 29, 2011 at 21:53 #374830There are more important welfare issues to be addressed in racing away from waving bits of felt around imo; makes me very angry.

Me too, here here.
Licence withdrawn would have been the best outcome for that particular jockey.
