Betfair offers the best opportunity for making a living from betting. I’m giving it a go because I don’t want to look back in 10 years time and say what if?
Today I’ve heard a spokesman from the Jockey Club, Jamie Osborne and Cornelius Lysaght all basically saying that punters know what is going on and take that into account when making a bet. This confirms what I’ve always thought about the racing industry; that it is a small incestuous world where everyone knows what goes on but it suits no one to rock the boat. Lysaght was particularly arrogant and seems to think that every betting shop punter studies the formbook in depth before placing a bet and if he doesn’t more fool him. What ****
ing world does this ponce live in? I’d like to introduce him to a few of the punters at my local, I think they may be able to change his mind. Any corruption within racing will only be exposed by outsiders; those on the inside have too much to lose. How’s about this for a conspiracy theory. Kathy is a stooge for someone out to discredit AOB/JP and therefore Ballydoyle/Coolmore. Does the person feeding her info hope that a journalist will pick this up and try and make something of it ? Chinese whispers, no smoke without fire, wink wink, nudge nudge. Millions could be at stake. ÂÂÂ
I can’t believe that nobody has asked the most important question.
Who was the man on the grassy knole ?
Thank god for that !
Pipe gives a good example of what I’ve been saying. If you don’t mean it don’t say it.
. It makes you want to give up.â€ÂÂ
Jim Any idiot can tip horses, as you prove everyday.
Aiden. I don’t want to ban any type of racing that’s not my point. What I object to is the way some people display there caring like a badge of honour.
Nick. Ok you’re in at number 4, with a bullet. But you’re gonna have to go some to knock Escorail off top spot
Apparently Jim’s betting shop has a counsellor who will give him a hug when he sees a horse fall.
I didn’t even know it was ill.
Rather than the usual tipping competitions how about having a caring contest. You could have a league table showing just who has shown the most compassion for a dead horse that week.
Imagine the scramble for top spot between Escorail, Jim, Kathy and Dan. ÂÂÂ
Did the horse die in the way described. Yes
Did any of the caring forumities rush to express their sorrow. No
Is the occasional fatally injured horse a price NH fans are prepared to pay for their entertainment. Evidently it is.
Apart from the last bit which is a blatant piss take I don’t see how anyone could argue with these facts.
News Flash. Dead Horse Shocker. The silence from caring forumites is deafening. Not a popular horse so hardly worth telling anybody how deeply it affected you. ÂÂÂ
Rouble broke both forelegs in the 2.00 at Cheltenham in a particularly nasty fall. Still that’s the price of today’s entertainment.
Our thoughts are with those caring forumities in what must be a difficult time for them.
But not enough to give up risking the lives of these animals for their entertainment ?

Before a race goes off, the first thing I say to my mates in my local is "I hope nothing falls"!
Whereas an uncaring git like me says "I hope I win".
Must remember to buy a bigger sick bucket.
Part 37 in my never ending quest to upset as many people as possible.
Question. How does someone prove what a caring sensitive soul they are. Simple, within minutes of a horse being injured let everyone know just how deeply it has affected you…….and then quickly move on to the next race at Sedgefield. What a load of self indugent, sentimental tripe. Pass the sick bucket. If someone was really concerned about the welfare of horses they wouldn’t support national Hunt racing.
Live on Channel 4 see the top jockey as he sheds a tear. See his pain, so you weep too. After all if it’s good enough for A.P…… Makes a great shot for Channel 4. Even better than Kilroy hugging a terminally ill child.
Question, would the same people be posting if Chimes At Midnight had been fatally injured out of camera shot. No because it would have only been a footnote at the end of the race. Why ? Because it was a 200/1 no hoper and therefore there are no brownie points to be gained for showing how much you care. Besides, you only got so much compassion and that’s saved for the front three in the market.
For the record I was unaffected by the death of Valiramax because (A) I didn’t bet in the race (B) Because I am obviously immune to the higher level of feelings exhibited by some here. (C) I am not a hypocrite.
