NAP – Altior – Horse is a machine and people will be calling him the next SS when he wins Arkle easily. His split times at the end of his races are frightening. Perfect for that hill.

EWAY- Yanworth – by far best of British challenge only defeat I believe came as of a bad ride by geraghty. Yorkhill was on the rail the whole race and Yanworth was 4 wide! Couldn’t believe he got within 2 lengths. Haven’t even seen the Irish fancies yet either and only 1 of AP or Faugheen will turn up. So definitely will place.
Josses hill in RSA each way aswell.

LAY – death duty very short reminds me of when briar hill was very short

    Champion Chase:
    Douvan 4/6 :yahoo:

Ummmm, I seem to recall you saying Douvan wouldn’t win the CC when I put him up at 3/1

    Hi Nathan,
Can only assume that was before SS got retired because I would be on SS if he hadn’t retired. I definitely haven’t been the biggest fan of Douvan but I like him more every run.

Have to agree Harry really doesn’t overwhelm me and I was the same with Big Bucks! Lol but he knows how to win just like Big Bucks so for me personally it’s a race I won’t play much part in because I can’t bet Harry but I have a feeling he could be as other say’ just doing enough’

Really not seeing any reason why Min beats Altior or why it’s even considered.
More chance of cue Card beating TC and that won’t happen.
People judging this like a rematch as if they are fairly level talent wise.
Shouldn’t even be in the same breathe if you ask me. This whole round 2 thing makes people think it could go either way and then they see the prices and think MIN is great value. It’s Not!
Altior is totally different league to Min.
buveur Dair would of beaten Min of it had been given a better ride.
I don’t buy this whole min was injured bollocks. You don’t run 2nd in a supreme if you’re injured

IMO Min is overrated. He got destroyed in the supreme by Altior but now apparently he’s ‘grown’ into a chaser. Has anyone seen the difference between Altior this season and last? He now looks like a monster horse. Yes his jumping could be a little better but there’s no way Min will beat him!
Min is no Vautour or Douvan and probably not even as good as champagne fever.
Altior a engine is incredible and I think one day he will be nearly as good as SS. Also Simonsig won an Arkle and couldn’t jump at all! Altior certainly jumps better than him and has a better engine.
Yes Min was impressive on his chasing debut but if you have a look at Edwulf in that race he must of made 4/5 serious errors and still got within 11 lengths of Min. I’m aware Min wasn’t pushed very hard but if Edwulf had of jumped Min would of had to be asked for a lot more. And to be asked a question by a horse as bad as Edwulf is embarrassing. So I think Min’s chasing debut is overrated aswell.
Not trying to annoy anyone on here but rather save your money. Put your money on Altior not Min as it cannot lose

I’m going to say it early!
DOUVAN WONT WIN 2017 CHAMPION CHASE
much like UDS I think it was a very weak Arkle he won and again just like UDS in his Arkle I was not impressed with the win.
When asked Douvan was struggling to pull away from Sizing John who had just been hampered.
And as for Vaniteax, he would have gone very close since Douvan didn’t find much when asked. Just like UDS found nothing against SS when asked!
Seriously think Douvan has been completely overhyped and for me SS should be favourite.

Very surprised no one in here has mentioned it yet…..
IM CONVINCED VANITEAX WOULD HAVE BEATEN DOUVAN IF HE STAYED UP.
Yes I’m sure, you’ll all day jumping is the game and all that
Or you’ll say DOUVAN was travelling much better at the time but look would happen with Vautour and Cue Card in King George.
I would ask you all to re watch the race.
When Vaniteax fell he was staying on very strongly for pressure and actually came alongside Douvan.
He then fell but he had much more momentum then Douvan
Douvan was travelling well so I kept a keen eye on what he did after Vaniteax fell and actually think he didn’t find much at all when Ruby asked him a question.
sizing John was actually hampered slightly and lost a bit of momentum and Douvan wasn’t even pulling away from him after the last.
Seriously didn’t think Douvan found much at all looked one paced and for me he is not a MONSTER. Yes a very good horse but he is beatable and VANITEAX WOULD HAVE WON AND AT THE VERY LEAST WOULD OF BEEN EXTREMLY CLOSE

Well I am hoping for decent ground as I have backed TOP NOTCH E/W after it came back to form at Kelso.

Sorry Stuart but Top Notch is the one of hendersons that handles soft. It’s Hargam who wants it good ground and so does MTOY and peace and co.
Henderson actually said before that top notch would beat Hargam on soft but Hargam would beat Top Notch on good ground.
So if it’s good to soft or better I would be on Top Notch

I can see the argument for Nichols canyon because many people say he would be FAV If you can forgive one run. That may be the case since he did beat faugheen, however, the race he beat faugheen I believe was not a good performance from either faugheen or NC because Wicklow was so close to them. So for me I’d have to forgive NC 2 runs and I can’t do that. Can’t have AP purely because what horse can be aimed at a world hurdle and then consider winning a champion hurdle after a less than perfect preparation.
Personally think Henderson will win it but again impossible to decide which one.
Peace and Co could be the best of his if fulfilling his potential in what will b better ground for him and a better pace in the race which will suit.
MTOY I believe would win this if as good as 2 years ago but that’s nearly an impossible task
Hargam is my dark horse- I still think improve for good ground which he hasn’t ever really had.
Top notch – I believe is just short of top notch

I think the champion hurdle is the hardest puzzle to solve at the festival. I won’t be laying out Much money on this race and as its so open to me I’ll probably go for a longshot like peace and co or hargam

I cannot express how excited I am to see sprinter Sacre vs Un De Sceaux. I honestly believe sprinter will improve on any performance shown this far this season and get to within 6-8 pounds of his very peak best.
And I think that will be enough for him to Beat Un De Sceaux. The sight of them both being 10 lengths clear of the field approaching the second last is the most exciting moment I can imagine ever in horse racing.
9/2 about sprinter Sacre to me is unreal value. I will absolutely lump on this horse. If it wins I’ll be in dreamland
