Well Jim Lewis said he’d be buried at Exeter on the racing post website.

Yes it is really sad to see best mate dead but there seems to be more reaction and publicity of his death than Tom Haillidays. This is the difference of a horse who had his day where tom was a 2o yera old with his life in front of him. Both very sad occasions but toms was some much more important yet i never seen it on the news.

The way i look at his handicap mark is that last year ollie magern had 3 runs last year in novice chases before he ran in the hennesy. He won the same race last year that iris’s gift won today and he beat a better horse in comply and die last year than iris’s has faced this year over fences. Ollie was given a mark of 146 for the hennesy and i know that ollie was only rated 130 over hurdles but it was clear to see early on last year chasing was his forte, where as iris’s still has to convince me he is a natural chaser. If iris’s is given more than a mark of 146 then it will be a joke because outta the 2 ollie was more impressive last year than iris’s has been this year. I wonder what mark Forget The Past has been revised to because he could be interesting in the hennesy.

i cant see him get near 158 because he beat the same horse only 4 lengths recieving 8 pound at market rasen. I would say 145 would be more appropiate being a novice but if hes over 150 he would have a very stiff task at newbury if he were to run!

please dont talk down to me grasshopper explain how handicaps work i am a genius when it comes to horse racing and it aint only me who says it i no i am new on here and i dont wana argue with any1 unless i find them talkin alot of rubbish and you aint you do speak your opinion and i think your right it was a brilliant perfromance especially for a novice and i probably tackled you bout your 1st post to strike up conversation i reckon he coulda pushed best mate close in the gold cup if hed of ran as a novice.i came home the evening best mate won it the third time and i thought fit and well strong flow has a big shout next year but the injury took his top class edge away and wasnt same horse since.

Yeah, Irisheyez. Strong Flow only won the Hennessey 14L in a hack canter as a novice, with the likes of Hedgehunter, Take Control, etc behind.
Even if Sir Rembrandt, Take The Stand and One Knight had stood up, they would have been slaughtered that day.

Strong Flow’s Gold Cup performance last season is all about him not being the same horse after injury, and nothing to do with the form of his Hennessey win being over-rated.
i like the way u said take control, hedgehunter etc u said that coz there was no more half decent chasers and TAKE CONTROL HE WAS REALLY HIGH CLASS. hedgehunter won the national yes but in my eyes he is still a plodder he wouldnt get within 30 lengths of the gold cup winner next year.i rated strong flow really highly after the hennesy but cracks started to show in the form and my mate was talkin to ruby a week after the hennesey and he reckoned nil desperandum was the better of the 2 horses remember he won the chase at fairyhouse the next day by 14 lengths
strong flow had no excuses in the gold cup last year i reckon his hennesy win was a bit overated saying he won off a mark of 140 i no he was up to 161 but that is still a stone behind kicking king and what high class chaser did he beat that day that finshed the race.

i have great admiration for iris’s gift and i think he’ll be a brilliant chaser on a proper galloping track and we must remember it was only his second run over fences last sat.what i would think is that maybe the gold cup could be a year too early and maybe isnt jonjos only ption for the race because keen leader proved last year he can run a decent race around cheltenham. it was a nice performance off top weight in the willian hill handicap chase.i also think kicking kings biggest danger this year could be fundamentalist if he comes back well from injury.
