Why is Ballynagour available at 45/1 on Betfair then? With no takers?

    Prospect Wells

is hotpot favourite for this but a line through

    Steps to Freedom

    makes

    Sailors Warn

potentially well handicapped. 6th in the Triumph hurdle he would also appreciate the likely soft ground.

At a bigger price, I like

    Third Intention

just behind Sailors Warn in the Triumph. Line through

    Via Galilei

gives him 3lb in hand of

    Gibbs River

(though that was Gibbs Rivers first run – Not sure if will like really soft ground?)

    Cheers,

If we are talking turnovers… Then I would have wished to ride Wayward Lad to beat Dawn run in the ’86 Gold cup.

Otherwise I would have loved to be on Dancing Brave in the Arc…

I’m going to take advantage of Paddy Power’s offer of ‘money back if Cue Card wins’ and back HIDDEN UNIVERSE in the hope that good ground will bring improvement. I’ve lost count of how many times Dermot Weld has pulled something special out of the fire. On seasonal debut wasn’t that far behind some good horses… Got to improve…

Don’t be silly. Of course Bots don’t exist. Its Betfair propaganda to make naive people believe that you can actually make money from horse racing without even opening a form book.

I make a good living from racing and the 23 hours a day spent perusing the form book are a joy…

Is bad value easier to find than good value? Most of my success has come from looking for a hyped up favourite and then looking for the value in the race.

Now with the advent of betting exchanges I wonder if I’d have made more money by laying the ‘bad value’ favourite?

Personally, I find the more time I’ve spent on a race. The more likely I’ll come to the correct conclusion. Somehow the amalgamation of as many factors as possible, including seeing in your minds eye how it will be run, strengthens my opinions rather than confusing them.

But four hours is an excessive amount of time especially if you end up with no conclusion. Even so, hopefully you will have learnt something about the contenders for a future race.

I was disapointed iwith his jumping too but the fact remains that in seven races he’s won five, fallen once and been third in a King George.

Soft ground gives him a better chance but I still remember him powering up Cheltenhams hill to win the Stayers hurdle on Good/Firm.

I’m not hedging my 16/1 Antepost voucher yet…
