() – A parenthesis with a country’s abbreviation after a horse’s name; for example, (IRE)=Ireland, (FR)=France, (CHI)=Chile, (NZ)=New Zealand; indicates what country the horse was foaled in and what stud book they are registered with.
what does
(IRE)
after his name mean then? i’ve always thought (been told) it means where the horse was foaled?
The horse was foaled in
Ireland
.
What did you make of his return?
ARC

But i think if he would of sat a bit closer or moved forward abit sooner he would of won she was travelling the best all through that race IMO she would of beat leading light

black type
Boldface type, used in sales catalogues, to distinguish horses that have won or placed in a stakes race. Many sales catalogues have eliminated the use of black type for stakes below a certain monetary level-$15,000 in 1985, $20,000 from 1986-1989 and $25,000 beginning in 1990. If a horse’s name appears in boldface type in a catalogue and in all capital letters, it has won at least one black-type event. If it appears in boldface type and capital and lower case letters, it was second or third in at least one black-type event. Black type was awarded to fourth-place finishers in races before Jan. 1, 1990.

I’m not happy he lost!!!!
i think the
2yo
division is very open so far this season no
super stars
yet.
Slightly biased because I backed him but I can’t see why anyone would think it was a fluke. It strikes me that the Coventry Stakes is a race that is increasing in stature and a number of better 2yos are also appearing earlier in the season so I can understand the short price for the Guineas. You could easily argue that he should be considerably shorter than Kingman who at the moment is priced up primarily on hype. The big fear I would have with War Command would surround O’Brien steering him safely to the race. If he just had the one star to train it might be a different story.
Looking more liking to be a fluke now
I did say on a thread a couple of weeks ago why can low grade horses run nearly every week but top class horses cant now i know why!!
Dawn Approach needs a long break hopefully until next season.
Dawn Approach 2
Toronado 1
Dawn Approach harder campaign come back straight away from a HARD Derby run..
i cant take it DA is at his peak his dad and mother didn’t race beyond 3yo it going to be interesting if DA stays in training now and as a 4yo i very much doubt it tho
JMO
racing uk could not cope with Irish racing no way it will be under a red button or racing uk 2
