Politics.
Leaders all across the world are realising that being associated with Trump is toxic with their electorate. Meloni is simply trying to distance herself from the tangerine tyrant as best she can.
Mr Musk has very deep pockets. A lot can change in three years.
If Venetian Sun reproduces her Haydock form, she wins… simple as.
However, I am opposing her with Coppull e/w, as he never runs a bad race and had a nice prep over course and distance last time.
I note that VTC has gone for Midnight Tango, who ran my selection close last time, and she certainly has a solid chance of outrunning her odds.
“is the pressure on Farage now”
On that very subject (ish):
The question is, just how much will Burnham move to the right once he is in Number 10? It’s not only the rightwing media that will be assaulting him; the odious Labour Together faction will be expecting some reward for Simons standing down.
It’s interesting to note that, as a direct consequence of the Makerfield result, Labour are now marginal favourites to win the most seats at the next general election.
“Talk of it taking over from Reform and the Conservatives is fanciful in the extreme.”
I wouldn’t be so sure about that, but we’ll see.
2.30 Light Of Dawn (Silent Beauty)
3.05 Coppull (Wise Approach)
3.40 Emit **NAP** (Opportunity)
4.20 True Love (Touleen)
5.00 Green Carrera (Rosa Inglesa)
5.35 Causeway (Water To Wine)
6.10 Gold Digger *NB* AND Westport (Dickensian)Would Reform have won or been closer if they had selected a candidate who wasn’t openly misogynistic, thereby alienating many female voters, and rather dim, demonstrating repeatedly that he had no idea of even his own party’s policies?
Actually, to be fair to Kenyon, Reform don’t have any actual policies.
Where’s @Wilts this morning?
Crying into his cornflakes, I’d imagine, after declaring that this by-election was “electoral suicide” for Burnham and Labour.
The winning margin was over 20 percentage points. Ouch.
There are plenty of alternatives available, for free too.
Timeform, Sporting Life, Irish Racing, etc…
Thanks, Raymo; I will definitely have a bit less to drink today than I did yesterday – getting too old to get tanked up on consecutive days!
2.30 Time For The Moon (Revels)
3.05 Cannes (Enceladus)
3.40 Johanna Walsh (Composing)
4.15 Caballo De Mar (Rahiebb)
4.50 Wechaad AND Pathein (Tales of Wisdom)
5.35 Glacius **NAP** (Mountain Cat)
6.10 The Wizard of Eye *NB* (Fondo Blanco)The number of people who don’t realise that the entire anti-immigrant agenda is all in order to run the NHS into the ground, so that it can be privatised, astonishes me.
I hope all these imbeciles enjoy paying for their health care… and watching their loved ones die when they can’t afford it.
Lol. I may be slightly better looking than Mr Dowie although, again, it’s all subjective.
The New Lion.
Phwoar.
Except that the pages of this thread aren’t stuck together.
😉
@BigG – I am genuinely sorry to hear of your personal situation.
Unlike others here, I have not had the undoubted pleasure of meeting you or your partner/wife, but I wish you both the most successful of recoveries.
